<p>I’ve had arthritis since I was about 3 years old. First of all my family doesn’t have an incredible amount of money we’re just a regular middle class family but me having Arthritis really takes a toll on our family. I really feel like a burden sometimes because my medicine costs soooo much and I take a lot and one of the medications I take is also used with chemo so there’s been a huge cut back on it so the price has really sky rocketed. I only have mild JRA and that’s really a blessing because I can still play sports and be a regular kid. Are there any scholarships or schools willing to give financial aid to someone like me? Any help would be much appreciated. I’m not using my disease as a sob story but I want to help my family as much as possible. Thanks again :)</p>

<p>I don’t think colleges have special scholarships for JRA. However, sometimes if medical costs are high, the family will get their EFC adjusted a bit. But, if your school doesn’t meet need, then it won’t make enough of a difference.</p>
<p>If you have very good grades and test scores, then there are schools that give scholarships for that.</p>

<p>when you say that you’re a regular middle class family, does that mean that your family earns about $50k per year? or more like 80k+ per year?</p>

<p>I asked my family and they said they can only pay about $6-7,000 a year which is good with me and I live in Nebraska.</p>
<p>Actually there is a scholarship for JRA and RA it is the UCB RA Scholarship program. I believe the deadline is usually at the beginning of the year around March. I know that some arthritis foundation chapters offer scholarships. I would also look into if the college you are interested in offers any. I know the college I attended offered a scholarship to students that had any type of an autoimmune disorder</p>
