Are there any Scholarships for Me?

I am a Indian who is in debate, honor societies, academic decathlon, tsa, bpa, and has community service hours. Are there any scholarships I should look into because being an asian I heard that there are not that many scholarships for us.

Are you international or US student?

U.S. Student

Are you a junior or senior?

What are your test scores? your GPA?

are you low income?

How much merit do you need for EACH year of college?

Most scholarships that are for all four years of college are from the universities themselves. And usually your nationality is irrelevant.

Most private 3rd party scholarships are SMALL only for freshman year, hard to get and may have a “need” component.

For some schools, being in state or not does matter much more than being domestic or international.

I will be a senior 2014-15, i have 3.96 out of 4.0 GPA

Google scholarships. You will see there is an array of them. It’s a matter of matching their requirements to what you offer. Look under the scholarship thread.

SAT/ACT scores are generally more important than GPA. If you haven’t taken them yet, what was your PSAT score?

140-160 PSAT

When are you taking the SAT and ACT. That will determine scholarships.

???
Why is your PSAT a range? It should be one score.

150 PSAT, I want to take SAT in May and ACT in June

You need to practice for the ACT and SAT. A 150 PSAT is similar to a 1500 SAT, which isn’t high enough for merit.

Practice practice practice! And take the ACT as well as planned.

As was noted above, the colleges themselves provide the best merit scholarships, and test scores are important. Your best bet is to (1) study hard/prep for the SAT and/or ACT, and (2) apply to colleges where your stats are on the higher end and you can see that they give merit aid. To tell if a college gives merit aid, look at their financial aid/“affording college” web page. Also, if you Google “Common Data Set <college name=”">", you can usually find out information on how many students get merit aid, what the average amount is, and you can also see more detailed statistics on the entering student body so you can figure out if your statistics are on the higher end.</college>
