Are there any scholarships out there for me?

I’ve heard that there are a lot of unusual scholarships out there–scholarships for left handed people, twins, duct tape prom dresses, etc–but I don’t quite know how to find them. Does anybody know of any good scholarship search websites? I don’t want to end up signing up for a website that will give out my personal info, as well as end up applying to a fake scholarship.

I am specifically looking for scholarships related to being ambidextrous (I draw with my left and write with my right), Russian, female, artsy, a flute player, interested in Japanese, fairly intelligent, a swimmer, and not bad at writing.

Any advice? Thank you. :)

Bump? Hmmmm maybe I’m on my own with this.

Do you know about www. Fastweb. com

lose the spaces above between words when you link, obviously

Yes, fastweb.com, see who your parents work for, many peoples’ employers offer scholarships

Thanks, I’ll look into that website.

Your parents employer, any associations that your parents or grandparents may be members of like Civil Service, Elks, VFW, etc, scholarships given within your state, scholarships bc of your intended profession, there are lots of avenues to choose.

Does your GC post opportunities on a bulletin board (electronic or corkboard)?

Also, mention to your favorite teachers that you’re always scouring around, looking for scholarships, in case they hear of anything local or through their professions.

They’ll immediately tell you to go to the GC, but you’ve planted a seed in their memory. You never know.

Run to a bookstore and leaf through some of their books on scholarships. I don’t know how much they overlap with the electronic world these days, but I often found things there that didn’t make it onto the boards because the sponsors are kind of crusty and not web-wise.

Don’t buy those books; save your money for college. Bring a pencil and paper.

I spent many hours on the floor of Barnes and Noble
