My youngest daughter is trying to convince me to let her apply to Branksome Hall Asia located in South Korea. I really want her closer to home, but I haven’t said no…yet. She began self studying the language and is in love with it. She has reached intermediate college level so far, and it has only been 15 months. Her older brother attends boarding school and her older sister is going through the application process now. I have hopes for her to change her mind and learn the more common Chinese or Japanese language. If anyone knows of a Boarding school that offers Korean I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

I would look for a school that would allow your child to study Korean at a local university if needed; or would be willing to set up a tutor for her to study the language on campus. That is, if you can’t find one that offers it. We found this when my daughter wanted to continue her Japanese studies but her first choice school did not offer it in their curriculum.

Korean students are well represented in many of boarding schools in US, so while it’s not be the same as living in Korea, your daughter will have a plenty of opportunities to interact with them. Andover Korean Society recently made [a Gangnam Style parody](<a href=“Gangnam Style 강남 스타일 Parody - [Phillips Academy] Andover Style - YouTube”>Gangnam Style 강남 스타일 Parody - [Phillips Academy] Andover Style - YouTube), featuring its headmaster. She might even be able to join a Korean student association!
