Are there cheap/reasonable motels within walking distance to T in outskirts of Boston?

This past week we stayed in Alewife (as a result of some CC suggestions) at the element motel. It was a drive to the Alewife T station and when we got there there were no spots to park our car. Needless to say, this location will not work for us.

So we are in need of new suggestions… We want to try to stay at the most reasonably priced hotel that we can find. We are open to staying in the outskirts of Boston as long as we can walk from the hotel/motel to the T and take the train into Boston.

Thank you!

John Jeffries House is right by the T and right in Boston.

There was a thread about this last week.

The Best Western Tria is a 10-15 minute walk to the Alewife T station and the hotel runs a shuttle van there hourly. I got a $120/night rate there last week (including a hot breakfast for two) by bidding on Priceline. Not exactly cheap, and not a trendy location, but for July in a hot tourist town, I thought it was a decent deal.

The thread from April is at:

<a href=“Looking for cheap, safe motel to stay in Boston proper or in a close Boston suburb? - Parent Cafe - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/1635461-looking-for-cheap-safe-motel-to-stay-in-boston-proper-or-in-a-close-boston-suburb-p1.html</a></p>

You can review/compare what other recommendations were made - we always stayed at the Walker Center near the Riverside station when our D was in college.

Hotel Veritas is amazing. Not a motel though.

You received a TON of suggestions on your previous two threads about cheap hotels in Boston. Maybe review those threads.

You don’t need NEW suggestions…you need to read again.

And again we ALL ask…what do YOU view as cheap?

I have reviewed the previous thread but now realize how important it is to be within walking distance of the T (which is why I began this post).

We are looking to stay for around/below $100 a night if possible.

Thanks again!

We stayed at the John Jeffries House once years ago, it was perfectly fine and near the T. Looks like studios are around $135/night.

Is there anything at all around/below $100? Willing to travel by T up to 45 mins into Boston as long as T station is walkable from Hotel/motel.

I have looked into airbnb at someone’s prior suggestion but that is more easily used if I know well in advance what days I will be visiting…in some cases my plans for Boston travel will be last minute.

Walker Center is .3 miles, an 8 minute walk to the Riverside Station. The rate for 1 person is $85, $100 for two. Fabulous breakfast is included. Great/safe neighborhood.

There are T stops in Braintree and Quincy. Definitely outside of Boston, with huge parking garages. Although they might fill on weekday mornings. I no longer live near there, but you might search that area and maybe find something in walking distance.
