Hey guys, are there any people rejected by their schools like Andover or Exeter after being accepted? Like if they have all Fs for the third quarter and Fourth quarter?
Hey @Andoverguy, I am unsure what the term is at Andover, but they do have a policy that an admitted student must maintain their GPA between being admitted to end of the term at their prior school. Andover reserves the right to not bring in the student if they don’t keep up their grades. Hope that helps. Not sure about Exeter, but most colleges have a similar policy as well.
The term is the same at all schools - it’s “recission.”
So, yes, all F’s will definitely result in an acceptance getting rescinded. Indeed, one D will likely lead to the same result. In general, the acceptance letter will list what actions will result in having the offer withdrawn.
I would take a guess and say that major disciplinary issues could also cause an acceptance to be rescinded.
Do you think C’s can also raise a red flag? Or even B’s?
B’s will not raise a red flag. One or 2 C’s will probably not be an issue. A slew of C’s may be an issue. But the solution is easy - don’t get C’s.
Agreed. But we’re talking major issues, as in getting expelled major. Cutting class will not cause an acceptance to be rescinded; dealing drugs on school property will.
I know of someone who wanted to come talk to the kids at DC’s school. This was a kid accepted by a HADES school whose admission offer was rescinded due to something he posted on Instagram. After he “recovered” from it, he decided to share his story with other middle schoolers so they could learn from his mistakes. I forget what happened, but the event was never approved/planned. This was mentioned in one of the parent meetings about the dangers of social media – maybe there wasn’t enough interest.
Also applicable for college-bound students. Recall the incident where Harvard rescinded admissions last year.

@skieurope do you think that 2 Bs will have a red flag
Not at all!!!
Only on this site.
Or maybe in your kitchen. For schools, not at all. My earlier point above still stands.
Nice!
