Are there TV shows you watch for the "wrong" reason.

I don’t like violence but I loved “Dexter”!

I watch all of the crime shows. I love “Homicide Hunter” because I think Joe Kenda is cool in that Mark Harmon NCIS sort of way, but real. My H says I watch them to figure out how to get away with killing him. I actually find the psychological motivations fascinating.

I also watch the Real Housewives because I can’t believe rich people behave like that. Plus, the juvenile delinquent shows so I can feel like I am not such a bad parent.

We like Grimm because Portland where most of it was filmed is beautiful and I like Monroe and Rosalee plus Wu. If those are wrong, I am guilty.

We even went to visit Portland so H could see where some of it was filmed. Had a great time there (I got my BA in Eugene, so had visited before, but never with H).

I started binge watching Grimm right before the last season. And at some point I saw an article about Team Adalind and I couldn’t figure out how they could possibly get there because she was so ,you know, evil. But they did. And I LOVED it!

I watch the Big Bang Theory for the contents of the whiteboards.

That’s weird, critiquing the “reason” to watch. I love Grimm, for all the reasons (do we actually need a reason for Captain Renard to rip off his shirt, one more time?). And I guess I am an outlier, I was more a fan of Juliette, never appreciated Adalind that much.

I sometimes watch The Bachelorette to reassure myself that I wouldn’t want to be young and beautiful because all the available men are sleazy liars.

I once had to watch a season of the Bachelor because my client liked the house. They had the whole thing on VHS tapes.

I watched Grimm in part because I liked the interior design. I loved Nick and Juliette’s house, Reynard’s apartment and of course Monroe’s house, with all the cuckoo clocks.

I watch TBBT for Sheldon’s T-Shirts.

D has a “73” t-shirt.

W and I have been binge-watching Criminal Minds lately. We do watch it for the “intended reason”, i.e. Serial killers. But what we talk about afterwards is the ridiculous “hacker stuff” and “hacker talk”.

E.g. “OMG this system is unbelievable, it’s all open source Linux!” LMAO like every company in the world doesn’t run Linux. :)) Or, “Her UI is incredible!” - meanwhile she’s typing in a text command window. 8-|

I must confess that I have guilty pleasure shows… Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. I don’t watch much other network TV but I have also watched Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, “Blue Bloods” too. That is about it… .I had watched The Good Wife and now that is gone but it did get tiresome the last two seasons, having really run it’s course. This is the last season of Scandal. I do enjoy the limited series shows including “Genius” about Einstein and the show that just aired about the Unabomber on Discovery which I think is over. Oh and of course Downtown Abbey when it was on and Call the Midwife…

The cast of Grimm is the most College Confidential-ish I know of. Cast went to Harvard, Brown,Northwestern, Michigan, UCLA.
