Are these ACT scores okay?

I took the first test out of the Red Book. I didn’t really prep for the ACT per se, but I’ve been hardcore prepping for the SAT that I will be taking May 1.

C: 31
E: 33
M: 31
R: 29
S: 31

I recently took an ACT test out of the Barron’s book; my score was atrocious. I know the Red Book was an actual proctored test, but I think it must’ve been one of the easier ones?

How can I increase my scores in each category?

bumppppppppp

bumppppppppppp

I hope to apply to a top 20 university, btw. :)

bumpppppppppppppp

fa la la laaaaaaaaaa

bumpity bump bumpppppp

That is a good score. Now relax.

bumppppppppppppp

Really? But if I know if I can score higher will there be a difference between a 31 and 32 in terms of college admissions?

umm u dont need to bump every min.

and yes there is a difference

It won’t make or break your application if you score one point higher, but generally the closer to a 36 you are, the better.

Sorry, it’s just I’m really stressed out right now. I’ve been in contact with the Princeton coach and she’s been stressing how important my SAT/ACT scores are in the admissions process. I know my chances of acceptance will increase with a likely letter but I don’t want to just rely on receiving one.

I’ve been scoring a lot higher on the SAT, but that has been with a lot of prep, whereas my ACT score was with no prep.

Should I just try to better my score on the ACT or take both regardless?

Take both if you can handle both. Barron’s trademark is having ridiculously hard tests; I’m not very fond of them.

31 Composite without study is impressive; you can easily make it higher

Okay, thanks!

I’m probably going to take the ACT in April to see how I do, and then decide.

Would you recommend taking SAT IIs in June?

^ lawl ur chances dont just increase with a likely letter. A likely letter = admission. It’s a garuntee and not an increase in chances.

Hahaa wow fail. Yeah, I’m not really familiar with the whole admissions process. Can’t you tell?

Would being an URM and recruited athlete aid in this situation? Will they be more lenient towards my average test scores?

^ those factors would help immensily.

Barron’s is known for having much harder practice tests than the actual thing. I would really only put any value on scores from the Red Book or other actual ACT Tests.

Okay! It’s kind of discouraging. I’d rather my practice test be harder than the actual ACT though. :P
