Are these essay topics wildly inappropriate?

I’m considering three essay topics:

 1. The first time I ever went skinny dipping, and how liberating it was, and how it deepened my trust of the people I was with, and how it made me realize how the simplest actions are often the most memorable and that I am not, in fact, constantly being judged
 2. The moment I realized I was terrified of becoming an adult. It’s when I was 12, and thinking about a story my English teacher told me about how at 16 Native American would wander into the woods and starve and meditate until a spirit animal appeared to them. Once their spirit animal came, they were considered adults in the eyes of the tribe. I was thinking about what my spirit animal would be, and then I realized that I wouldn’t have one, and then it’s a reflection on my desire for an adult ceremony and what I made my definition of adult to be
 3. How the most influential experience of my high school career was riding bus 63. I had to ride the bus for close to three hours every day to get to my high school, and it’s where I was first asked out and where I first held hands with someone, and how we developed our own little culture. Even when I didn’t ride the bus, such as when I got stuck at school, I’d have to wait for the activity bus at 6:30, and in those times I was employed to operate the lights at the school talent show and we also discovered how to get on the roof.

these are great, if you want to get rejected :/

These topics do not strike me as “wildly inappropriate”.

Choose the one that allows you to be the most personal, detailed, honest and revealing.

My concern about #2 is that the event occurred at age 12. If you go that route, make sure that the essay reveals you as you are now.

I think personal statements are just what they are suppose to be…personal. No matter what ur topic is, colleges are more interested in how u can convey ur ideas and passions in an coherent manner. Just bring out ur voice and personality. I think number 3 is a really good topic.

I vote for #3 too.

I really like essay topic number #3. The essay topics are great. I would shy away from #1. Emphasize how you guys grew your own culture, not so much about the relationship with one person.
