Please keep in mind I am going to be a Junior next year, so there will be time to push up the GPA.

Here are my grade average semester by semester:
Freshman year, semester one. Average= 83.8
Freshman Year, semester two. Average=83.8 (yes I know, ■■■. My freshman year was bad. But I improved in Sophomore)

I have yet to take the ACT, but my practice tests (barrons) are between 29 and 31. I plan to major in History, and my grades in History have all been 90%+. I also plan to take the SAT Subject Test in US History in addition to another one.

These are the schools I am thinking of applying to in order of preference.

University of Edinburgh Freshman Year Abroad Program
New York University
Boston University
UCONN
Penn State

Though your freshman grades were kind of low, you have an upward grade trend going on which colleges like to see. Keep that trend going, and try to do even better keep your junior year grades high, because that is the most important year for grades. Your junior year grades are way more important than your freshman year ones. And make sure you find ECs that you’re passionate about, and maybe get a recommendation from your US teacher.

If you keep your grades up and score at least a 29 on your ACT far as schools go BU, Penn State, UConn, and NYU are all matches. Hope this helps. Keep your grades up junior year and you should be just fine…don’t worry :)
