Ooh, thanks for the warning, brand_182! I’ve got about 5 weeks of summer left, so I’m thinking I’ll spend a little time studying hardcore for the ACT. Is thre a specific book you used? I’m hoping lots of studying now will pay off later. I’ll be taking them in September too. Good luck!

Why not check out Harvey Mudd. For your major, physics, its a great match. physicists attended top universities physics classes and found that Mudd had the top professors.

zpmqxonw - I really wish I had used it last time, but if you’ve got the time to order it off of Amazon or something, I’d get ACT for Brainiacs. I will DEFINITELY be using it before the next ACT b/c it focuses only on the most difficult questions for each section. Good luck to both of us!

Oh, I haven’t heard of that one before, brand_182. Thanks for the tip! I’m using the Official ACT Guide (I think that’s what it’s called) right now. It’s pretty good so far, I think I read the tests were actually real ones (the prep book is written by the test company), so hopefully it will help :)

And Jason, I’ll definitely have to look into Harvey Mudd. I knew they had a good engineering program, but didn’t realize they were strong in physics too! I think it would also be good to have another match school right now, as my list is probably pretty top-heavy. I really only have UWashington as a safety and I think the rest are mostly reaches.

Thanks again to everybody :)

Not to brag or anything, but zpmqxonw, go to www.physics.hmc.edu and read the excerpt from our February '04 external review (written in italics). For the record, the three profs who reviewed us were from Swarthmore, Williams, and Caltech.

E=mc2

that’s how u will get into MIT.
