So you went to the school and it turns out you were ready, so u were wrong in thinking u werent ready? that doesnt seem like such a big mistaice

No, No, the person DID NOT ATTEND LSMSA. He turned down the chance to go as an 11th grader. Now he looks back and says it’s the worst decision he ever made…so far in his life.

The Ivy League and many prestigious private colleges prefer kids from private prep schools, largely because they come from wealthy families who can pay the freight and also because the admissions officers have friends and professional peers working as college counselors at those schools. It was much worse 30 or 40 years ago. Now they are doing more about diversity in geography, demographics, race, socio-economic class. But the fact remains, they still take in a lot of kids from privileged prep schools.

The reason they take so many from top prep schools is because prep schools also have a very high bar for admission and these are some of the Country’s top students in terms of testing.

Yes, the day and prep school crowd tends to be well-heeled, but over 1/3 of the class receives need-based aid - - including some very large awards (a number of the Prep and ABC students at D’s schools were paying under $1500). And, as a group, the finaid kids were just as likely to enroll at Ivies, Ivy Equivs (like Stanford) and top LACs as the rich kids.

of course these schools are going to have super high SATS scores.
to get into them you have to take entrance exams and do interviews and all kinds of stuff
they pick the best students to come to them. thats why they are so high

oooooooops…sorry i just repeated what someone said alredy
but still…for reinforcement
haha
