Are you saying you don’t have a passport?
You need to apply ASAP (Nov3?) It can take several months, depending on how backed up the passport office is. And you WILL need one to accept any enrollment.

Both of these are going above my EFC. I think I need a job to fulfill these.
Than focus on Amherst then on your passport application. You’ll need one regardless of which country you go to and which college you attend. Most will require a passport number to verify identity.
I will get a passport ASAP, I think I might need to find colleges to apply honors to,I got the essay ready, do you think I should apply rutgers? I currently only applied Stony Brook’s Honors program
No, it won’t be affordable.
Thank you, do you think of any more that I could afford?
W&L, Bowdoin - etc - you should do all the need blind meets need schools.
I don’t see how you will afford some you already applied to btw. But you may get into some. Just positioning you for the inevitable.
After the need blind (when your essays are good including the Johnson at W&L, you need to go state by state and look at every regional from Central Missouri to W Alabama.
State by state - you can find a list of schools on NIche…if it has a N, S, E, W or a NE, SE, NW, etc. - you need to look at it. If it’s in a state but the school isn’t the state name - like Minot State, Black Hills State, Wichita State…you need to look at it.
That will be hundreds but take the time to look deep. One might be the nugget you need.
I did not apply a single college through commonapp, they are all thru coalition.
You are likely going to need a part-time job regardless. Is this something you are willing to do?
Whenever there’s an honors program you can apply to, you apply for it.
You won’t get scholarships from flagships. So, not Rutgers but Stockton or Rowan or Montclair (+ Honors) EXCEPT these aren’t likely to hit Budget. NJIT if you hit 1500+ in Dec. All have honors deadlines after you take the SAT.
Umm Morris, UMN Duluth, NOT UMN Twins Cities. UI Springfield, SIU Carbondale, NOT UIUC. Etc.
States like Arkansas, Mississippi, Nebraska, Wyoming are more likely to hit budget, even if it’s unlikely. You’re dealing with unlikely vs. impossible basically.
W&L - you need to complete this by Dec1.
Should I submit 1430 Sat to W and L?
I will not submit for bowdoin.
Thank you very much, I’ll skip the ones which are unlikely I should not waste my commonapp
Please go back and re-read my last note. I didn’t know it posted. I was just writing it. I added to it. thx
Got it thank you so so much.
Can’t apply Duluth it needs a fee
I think this will work.
thank yo
In India, before you apply for your student visa?
This has been mentioned a couple of times already but I’ll repeat: you will not receive your visa if the college costs $20k a year, you only have $8k, and your plan is to make up the difference with part time jobs in the U.S.
should I apply arizona state and penn state? @MYOS1634
Will he get the visa if he has 20k for the first year and then will make up the difference in future years with campus and summer jobs?
I think there are hidden things you don’t even know about - see the link below (last paragraph)
W Liberty in WV states this: Total support required for issuance of I-20 $24,450
But they have an Elbin Scholarship which is $12K.
The question then is, like others, are international eligible. They don’t say. Email them and ask.
They also note this: International Student Housing Grants
