Hello all,
I have spent a lot of time recently on cc and I’d like some opinions from you guys on myself as applications are just around the corner. I am a junior at a pretty competitive public school in Massachusetts. I am in the top 8% of my class. I have an unweighted GPA of 3.8. My average grade is, I believe, 94. I’ve always been in all honors and this year I’m taking 4 APs (apush, Lang and comp, music theory, and microeconomics). I’ve gotten mostly As with one B in English. Next year I’ll be taking 5 APs (Bio, physics, BC calc, macroeconomics, and literature). My super scored SAT is a 2080. I plan on taking it once more and also taking ACTs before next applications. I’m taking the math 2 and bio subject tests this week and aiming in the 700s for both. Outside of school, I am on varsity softball (looking to be recruited) and also play club all year softball. I also did basketball for a few years along with cross country and track (lettered in track, went to states, placed in state relays, set a school record). Our school is division 1 softball and our league sends girls to D1 every year basically. I am in NHS. I am VP of future educators of America. Spanish club. I coach a youth softball team and much of my community service comes from softball related activities (Over 100 hours easily). My biggest and most interesting ec is that I am a competitive Rubik’s cube solver starting when I was 12. I have played guitar for 10 years and I write my own music. I consider myself a very good writer and know I will write great essays as I have lots of stories to tell (I am gay and have been through great deals of bullying in my very conservative community, as well as battling depression and an abusive relationship). I am also Cape Verdean which I consider another plus. I intend on applying somewhere early decision but I can’t decide between Brown or Dartmouth. I know my SATs are low, but I’m well rounded elsewhere. If I increase my scores do you guys think I have a chance at getting into either of I apply ED? thank you everyone for reading this novel!
