Are They Still Reach Universities??????

I have an update with my college credentials before I transfer, Im apart of the Phi Theta Kappa(honor society) at my community college and Im in the honors program, I’ll have my transcripts stamped with the honors seal when I send them to colleges.

Im applying to:
Columbia University
NYU
Syracuse U.
Emory University
Brown University

I have good volunteering experiences and I’ll have a 3.3-3.4 GPA when I send in my applications and applications…Now since Im in the honors program and in Phi Theta Kappa are these schools still reach schools?

My major is childhood education…thanks :-)

I’m afraid that your 3.4 gpa is going to make Columbia and Brown extremely difficult. I’d say Emory and NYU are still reaches and Syracuse perhaps a little less so (I don’t know their transfer rate). I’d suggest replacing C & B with some schools that are more of a match for you. Good luck!

Agree. Because of the low transfer acceptance rates of most of these schools, they are mostly still reaches. Doesn’t mean it might not happen. But if you definitely are ready to transfer, you - of course - need a few less reach-y schools on your list.

Personally, I think Syracuse might be a match for you, and Emory, perhaps. The others are definitely reaches. I heard that Brown has an extremely low transfer rate… So, I would suggest you to look around some schools which are as the same level as Syracuse. You will have a better chance, if you get a more competitive GPA at your current college!
