Are UC/CSU forgiving towards past mistakes?

Say I were to do bad my first year of CC, but did very well on my 2nd and 3rd year, would UC/CSU take lightly of my first year and not let it weigh down my odds of transferring too much?

thanks!

No, private colleges would be more likely to be forgiving. State schools are typically purely numbers driven.

As long as you are not after the big ones such as Cal or UCLA, then yes, the instate publics are accepting. Indeed, the Cal States are setup to accept Junior transfers. Unlike privates (which tend to have FEW transfer slots), the publics have transfer built into their mission.

Thanks alot for the replies guy.

I hope a lower UC like UCI would be a bit forgiving.
