<p>If so, what exactly are you doing and how did you plan it all out? share the details. i’m having trouble searching for research opportunities.</p>
<p>I emailed a prof. at Yale Medical School in summer '03 and began right away. Now I’m soon-to-be published and have presented at many symposia. I’ll be presenting in chicago in may at a national meeting. i do research on specialized liver cells.</p>
<p>At my high school, we are required to take part in some sort of research before we graduate so I did that last semester (Let’s just say that one of the projects focused on fertilizers and the other on pesticides and water runoff). Also, at UMich, there is the Undergraduate Reseaerch Opportunity Program which I’m thinking about taking part in next year as a freshman. I already know a prof/doctor there (who was actually my doctor when I was younger for my scoliosis) so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to work with him. I just e-mailed him about it, and I’m currently waiting for a response. If it doesn’t work out with him, I’m hoping that he’ll be able to get me in contact with someone else.</p>
<p>I am. I was interested after reading articles on Microfinance and Microcredit. Hopefully getting background research and first hand surveys done. I contacted a few organization to help me out with all the details. Other than that I am pretty much on my own.</p>
<p>I intern at NIH right now, and have been since the summer. I plan to continue in college, wherever I end up, though I’d like to explore other areas of research, not biochem (which I’m doing right now). </p>
