<p>If I was the boss of the government, this is what I would do:</p>
<p>Taxes would be progressive with everyone paying atleast 1% of income for taxes and the top paying 33%. All types of income taxed the same. There is no excuse not to pay something for the benefit of being a US citizen or legal alein. No loopholes at all. </p>
<p>Unearned income would be subject to social security tax. </p>
<p>Tariffs on all imports no matter the country of origin. Stop the offshore madness. Most other countries are not playing fair. </p>
<p>Go back Glass-Steagall Act or something like it. </p>
<p>Give a tax break to any company that employees an unemployeed worker for more than two years. The company would not have to pay fica and the unemployment tax. With unemployment benefits we are not even getting the employee amount. </p>
<p>Just to name a few.</p>
