Are you nervous about all these asteroids that keep flying past the Earth?

One just flew by yesterday.

Do you think that the world should spend more time thinking about planetary defense?

They’ve always been flying by. We just didn’t know about them.

And we’ve already got Bruce Wllis, Ben Affleck, and Billy bob Thornton on board to save us.

Chuck Norris is the only one really needed. The others are only pretending.

Perhaps in the future we will allocate enough money to handle these puppies, but right now there is NOTHING that can be done, and they say the odds of a big one hitting us are pretty small. I don’t worry about it the same way I don’t worry about tornadoes. One of those comes tearing through the valley where I live every 5-10 years.

Yes, just as we should be investing more money into researching Yellowstone and what, if anything, we could do to prevent it.

Why the goofy threads? However, I do fret about what’s beyond the universe.

I’m much more worried about driving to Boston to get to the airport.

Why worry about something outside of your control? Seems unnecessary and stressful.

I have enough realistic things to worry about without adding wayward asteroids to the mix.

We probably have some secret gov project that will save us anyway.

Why keep that secret? Are we gonna redirect the asteroid to Russia?

Maybe, who knows? If that is the plan, they wouldn’t want anyone knowing about it would they?

I don’t worry about this at all. That being said, a women who works for my H is from the city in Russia where the meteor hit last year. Her parents still live there. She said there was a lot of damage done.

“Why keep that secret? Are we gonna redirect the asteroid to Russia?”

Didn’t we already do it successfully last year? ;)

Why worry?

This is the equivalent of worrying about a solar flare. It’s out of your control. It will happen whether you want it to or not.

BeGucci

I’m more worried about the current violence on Earth, as well as the homelessness. I will take my chances with asteroids.

Solar flares used to interrupt telecommunications, before digital. 3 or 4 times/year, as I recall.

Hmmm, OP did you just watch Armageddon and Melancholia back-to-back over the weekend? I think if an asteroid hits your house, homeowner’s insurance covers it. So, no worries on that front. It’s not an act of God is it? It’s a falling object. Time to check my policy.

A government agency actually made me come up with an emergency plan should my office building be hit by an asteroid. Maybe they know something we don’t. (when I retire I’m releasing that ridiculous email to the media - lol)

There are agencies working on the asteroid problem around the world. It’s not a secret.
I however don’t have the time to worry about things I can’t do anything about. I have CC to read…
