Are you raedy for the storm?

It seems like it.

It’s been very mild here, but that could change.

Does wind often accompany nor’easter? It is windy here, too.

Wind accompanies blizzards. Nor’esters are all about the snow.

I think this was just a windy front moving through. We had gusts last night that were in the 40 mph range.

-10 degrees F last night with wind chill near NYC.

Sunday night expect more white stuff, but definitely downplayed compared to the blizzard prediction.

Used to live somewhere whiteout conditions were normal, not even much of a mention.

There’s something right outside of my house that vibrates with strong wind. It sounds like a low pitch horn. I haven’t figured out the source.

We are getting mostly rain early Monday morning.

I gather the American and European weather models show about 1" of moisture. The snow totals are purely a function of temperature: an inch of water is about 10" of snow at 28 degrees and about 15" at 20 degrees. If it stays really cold, we could see 15 or 20" of snow, all that same inch of liquid fluffed up. It’s easy to shovel. It’s fun to shovel. But since we just had the snowiest 5 days on record, this will be a lot of snow when it’s pushed to the side of road and stacked up along sidewalks. (I have trouble believing that last line, but a meteorologist I follow says it was, nearly all because of the one storm.)

It was very windy here last night as well, so that when we popped the trunk of the car in a parking lot, the wind caught it and slammed it into the back window, shattering it into pieces. Fortunately we weren’t far from home.

^Wow!

@FlyMeToTheMoon, that sounds scary! Since you didn’t mention injuries, I’m glad no one was hurt!

No injuries. It was just such a shock. We both stood there speechless. And yes it was scary.

Wow, @FlyMeToTheMoon, I’ve never seen THAT happen! Yikes!!

Gosh. I’ve never heard of that happening. Who would even think it could!?!

So, my no snow has now turned into 8"-16" from Sunday afternoon until Monday night. :frowning: :frowning: I still should be ok to fly out Tuesday morning, but I did just had to convince H it’s not a good idea to drive to Syracuse tomorrow morning to watch the Super Bowl with his brother and drive back to Albany first thing Monday morning in a snow storm. He is not happy but too bad for him.

I thought today was beautiful. Cold, but not crazy cold - and it was a very pretty drive from here to Ct.

Extremely windy here. We went to a funeral on Cape Cod today and it was snowing lightly with freezing cold temperatures and high winds. Rt 6 looked like Antartica.

Looks like it’s Chicago’s turn tonight and tomorrow! Hopefully we can still pull together for our a cappella rehearsal tomorrow afternoon. We have a big gig coming up.

Winter storm warning everywhere my close family lives tomorrow until Monday afternoon. That includes Boston, NYC, upstate NY and eastern PA.

Was outside all day today at a chowder fest. It was 10 degrees. Am now sitting in a hotel room after eating hot chowder all day and a nice dinner but can’t get warm!

DS is supposed to fly out of Chicago tomorrow evening. Just talked to him and he said he’d booked the flight at 6 pm forgetting it was superbowl Sunday. Guess he might be able to watch the game afterall…

Chicago reporting in … A decent snowfall overnight (I’m guessing 4 inches) - it looks so lovely out! More expected today, but shouldn’t be too bad for morning commute, I’m hoping.
