Patriots play Jets tonight on NFL channel. The Jets have a limited passing game. The Pats have a limited receiving game. It should be interesting to see if anyone is there to catch what Brady throws.

Cam doesn’t spread the ball around as much as Vick I think(he loves Smith), but the Panthers don’t have Chip Kelly’s offense either. I’d pick Jackson because of the new look offense, but I still think it’s pretty close. I’m not familiar with the opponent teams defensive backs though.

It’s funny how quickly things change: last year the Patriots were questioned for using a quick snap offense with an average time of about 22-24 seconds. There was talk about it being unfair and how the officials would or should hold it up. And the Eagles were down to 16 seconds. The more things change …

As the great Johnny Cash said, “Life must be hard for a boy named Suh!” Dirty is too kind a word for this despicable street thug masquerading as a football player.

He will never learn until suspended for multiple games.

But Knights In Satan’s Service and Tebow? What a combo (Yes, I know that isn’t really what KISS stands for, but my dad remembers fondly the church moms who used to hold outside of their concerts and worry about my dad and his contemporaries’ souls.)

Calling Suh a thug and Tebow an incapable QB are both based on their performance on the field. We do not know enough about them to judge their character. All we can do is judge how they play. And bash the clowns.

Clowns? I’d pay to see teams suited up as clowns playing football, or baseball or whatever. Actually, my kids had an Xbox game–NCAA Football?–where you could field teams of school mascots, e.g., Notre Dame Leprechauns versus Michigan State Spartans.

I wouldn’t count on suspensions for garbage at the end of the Pats/Jets game. Fines, yes. Considering they fined Suh $100k for a low hit, going low when the guy is already 3 feet out of bounds could also be a big number.

Terrible game. Terrible color analyst on NFL Network. OMG, he was not only bad but uninteresting.

I assume the radio talk in NE will be half full/half empty nonsense. It’s Belichek’s ego and arrogance for going to rookies and a terrible decision to go with Amendola simply because he’s more physically fragile than Welker. Or they made it through the first 2 games and are 2-0 in the division and this is a learning curve and Gronk will be back, etc. I’d say both are true. And there will be calls to bring in Brandon Lloyd, who is unemployed, but the team and his teammates apparently had issues with him last year on top of them not liking his style of play. But he knows the routes in the offense. That said, I doubt we’ll see him back.

It’s somewhat amazing to look at the mess the NE offense is now. They had one tight end - Hman - and a guy they signed this week who is technically a tight end but is really more of a tackle with a different number. One. I don’t think they threw a ball to the TE position.

It’s really hard to say what a rookie like Smith will become but the positive signs for the Jets included a significant improvement in run defense and it looks like they’ve found some useful running backs. They moved the ball. And it was raining. So who knows?

I realized yesterday that the NFL is now on 3 nights a week all season. Didn’t Thursday Night Football used to begin at like week 10?
