Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!

Nice game despite the thunder & lightning.
So maybe fork out for a roof next time?

Nice start to the season. Maybe I will pay attention this year, my H would appreciate it.

I guess I could start by learning the players…

Nebraska fans are the best----honoring deceased Bruin player Nick Pasquale on your own field by releasing blue and gold balloons in place of your traditional red and white.
Cornhuskers —class act all the way.

162 - I thought it was thunder that rocked our airplane as we were approaching SeaTac. Guess it was not :)

(Our plane did get hit by a lightning - soooo cool!)

musicamusica, I loved it when the UCLA coach called out a disrespectful person who got on his phone during the press conference about Nick.

49er fan here…

“The 12th player” gets only partial credit, imo, so let’s give credit where credit is due. The Seahawks are, at this point in the season, the best team in football. Russell Wilson runs the option read better than anyone. He is “Houdini in football pads” and their defense is equally solid. The 49ers secondary is not the same as it was the previous couple of years. Yes, the Niners made some really dumb mistakes and penalties, but they were clearly frustrated by a superior performance. I would hate to be a defensive coordinator facing the Seattle Seahawks right now.

Can’t say that it is nice to see Cheatin’ Pete smiling and celebrating. He is such a jackass. Quite a few Seahawaks are just street thugs, and ultimately the refs will catch up with the provocation that precede the reactions. Offesnive coordinators will find ways to exploit an ultra-aggressive defense.

Interesting contrast between the two top games in college and the NFL. At the Aggies game versus Alabama, there did not seem a single player who knew what playing defense means. At the Seattle slugfest, there wasn’t a single offensive player worth his paycheck.

Wondered when you were going to show up xiggi.
Youve turned into quite a sourpuss for such a young man.

The design of the Seahawks’ stadium does give them a huge home-field advantage.

There is actually a penalty on the books for excessive crowd noise, but you never see it called.

Has it ever been settled whether they pump in extra crowd noises or not?

Does the noise really make a difference to how the team plays or is iit extra motivating to the other team?

It affects the offense. If they can’t hear the signals or the snap count, it affects their ability to change the play at the line, it affects blocking assignments, it can force them into a silent snap. These can lead to penalties and blown plays.

I don’t think anyone has ever proven it… the Colts were suspected of this for years.

A former player turned announcer said that it was so loud that it was hard to hear your QB calling plays in the huddle. It’s a huge advantage and Seattle’s owner is brilliant for making his stadium in such a way. Add in the fact that calling an audible at the line is almost impossible, and you have a pretty sweet home field advantage.

Seahawks played great, and they deserve the win. It just so happens that playing a top three team(my analysis) in that stadium is the toughest road game in the NFL.

And Richard Sherman might be the best cb in the game, still kind of mad he shut down Anquan Bolden and made me lose in fantasy.

^I disagree…Richard Sherman IS the best CB in football. I believe Jim Harbaugh, who coached him at Stanford, would probably agree.

The Niners got blown out last year up in Seattle as well. They also were playing without Crabtree and Manningham… but the Seahawks were playing without Harvin.

I was in the midst of making that statement and thought of Patrick Peterson. I had to decline to stick my neck out that far, they’re both amazing.

EK, this is a place to share opinions. Feel free to have the right to like your Seahawks. Just as I have the right to have my opinion about Pete. For some reason, I do not think that you do know much about the history of Pete, or football for that matter.

Actually, based on his years at Stanford, Jim Harbaugh might not think that highly of Sherman as a CB. The reality is that Sherman was NOT that great for most of his years at Stanford as a WR, and with a better shutdown CB Stanford might have avoided the heartbreaking losses against the Oregon Ducks that cost them the title.

As the announcers said last night, Sherman has been critical of Harbaugh, as he thought that Harbaugh did not endorse him to scouts, which caused a lower than expected draft.

LOL, last night was telling DH that something about Harbaugh just rubs me wrong, but there is just no way I can root for ole sneaky Pete.

xiggi, Some players “slip” in the draft for a variety of reasons. Look at Russell Wilson. Deion Sanders wasn’t taken until the END of the 1st round. Sherman is an amazing NFL CB.
