Are you ready for some football?

The sports media is more or less divided:

I learned today that Brady calls him Minitron - Martelius Bennett happened to be a guest on First Take at the time and he likened that to being called a Fiat.

I just hope that Lockett is on with his timing this game. Now that the starters are back I feel pretty good about punt coverage, but it is always a dangerous play were guys can make things happen (except when Walters is fielding them  )

Oh yeah, the kitty is in the Seahawks garb, it’s Blue Friday!!

Wow – SB withdrawal will be painful!

@saintfan‌ Good kitty!

It’s pretty crazy out there . . . everyone at work, everyone at the grocery store, everyone driving the cars that passed the other way while I was at the red light . . . yes, everyone is in fine form for Blue Friday. I love seeing even elderly people and small children dressed up. It’s fun to see what jersey people choose.

And local people . . . I stopped at QFC and my lucky Super Bowl beer is on sale!!! I was worried because Elysian just sold to The Man last week. A client who grew up in StL area assured me that it would be OK and that what is on the shelves now would have been brewed pre-sale. So I got 3 6 packs of Elysian Loser (homage to Sub Pop Records and the independent spirit of Seattle) for $7.99 each! Woot Woot Woot!!! Whether we are partying down or drowning our sorrows we won’t run out.

Spaying and neutering PSA from the Washington Humane Society featuring deflategate (I think it’s hilarious)

Ha!

Question for @saintfan, @Lergnom, and anyone else whose team is playing on Sunday:

Can you really ENJOY the game, or is it just kind of a nervous torture the whole time? It’s been so long since the Cowboys were in the Super Bowl that I can’t remember actually watching the games and my feelings about them at the time.

Are you all hosting parties? Going to parties? What are you going to serve/eat?

@saintfan‌ I talked with my D yesterday, and she said she’s never seen so much lime green in her life. She’s not a football fan (I know. Where did I go wrong? ), but even so, it’s exciting to be in Seattle this week. She said it feels electric.

Both. Or, it depends. Obviously, if my team is playing well/winning, it’s a lot of fun. If it’s close, it’s nervewracking. During the last minute or two of the Green Bay game a couple of weeks ago, I had to go into the laundry room and listen, not to the announcers, but to the crowd. I couldn’t stand to watch. Of course, last year’s Super Bowl had little suspense once it started, so that was easy.

No parties; I’m a Seattleite-in-exile, deep in the heart of Forty Niner Nation, which is still pouting and trying to figure out what the heck happened. DH and I will watch at home, with BBQ ribs.

Well . . . last year it was pretty much a blast from the first snap. I am not expecting that kind of game this year. It could really be a nail biter. However, Seattle is a great 2nd half team and they tend to make really good 1/2 time adjustments. I have gotten back to my attitude that they will give up yards then someone will intercept the ball. They just seem to find a way. I am not taking anything away from NE right now so no petulant responses. I am just back to that level of confidence that it will be OK. I am a pacer, though. I don’t do parties because I don’t want to visit. I just watch the game - last year I stood pretty much the whole time. Not a good guest or host! I will get Papa Murphy’s pizzas so no cooking. I will play “Can’t Hold Us” and race around the back yard with the dog if/when they score.

Now can I kick it? thank you
Yeah I’m so damn grateful
I grew up, really wanted gold fronts
But that’s what you get when Wu-Tang raised you
Yall can’t stop me
Go hard like I got an 808 in my heart beat
And I’m eating at the beat like you gave a little speed to a great white shark on shark week
Raw. Tell me go up. Gone!
Deuces goodbye. I got a world to see, and my girl she wanna see Rome
Ceasar will make you a believer
Nah I never ever did it for a throne
That validation comes from giving it back to the people.
Nah sing a song and it goes like
Raise those hands, this is our party
We came here to live life like nobody was watching
I got my city right behind me, if I fall, they got me
Learn from that failure gain humility and then we keep marching ourselves

Can we go back, this is the moment
Tonight is the night, we’ll fight till its over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us
Like the ceiling can’t hold us

Can we go back, this is the moment
Tonight is the night, we’ll fight till its over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us
Like the ceiling can’t hold us

So we put our hands up
So we put our hands up

Lets go

Na na na na na na na na
And all my people say

Na na na na na na na na
And all my people say

Na na na na na na na na
And all my people say

Na na na na na na na na

Can we go back, this is the moment
Tonight is the night, we’ll fight till its over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us
Like the ceiling can’t hold us

Can we go back, this is the moment
Tonight is the night, we’ll fight till its over
So we put our hands up like the ceiling can’t hold us
Like the ceiling can’t hold us

Let the night come, before the fight’s won
Some might run against the test
But those that triumph, embrace the fight cause
Their fears then prove that courage exists

If the game should go my way the big old school speakers will face out the window again at the end.

Well, LasMa, you will have a front row seat for next year!

If it somehow goes sideways early I might get Manning Face :frowning:

“How can this be happening to me? This isn’t supposed to happen to me.”

Romani and saintfan, OMG, “deflating balls and proud of it” - that’s too funny!

Did somebody already post this? If so, my apologies.
