Burfict hit the defenseless receiver in the head instead of pulling up, which cost them 15 yards. Then in the ensuing argument, Pacman Jones bumped a ref or did something to draw another 15 yard penalty, for a total of 30 penalty yards on one play. That left Pittsburgh with a chip shot for the win.
Of course, it started with the fumble. The ONE THING you can’t do in that situation is fumble. But that’s Cincy for you.
This might cost Lewis his job.
Burfict deserves a suspension imo. He is just a dirty, dirty player.
We’re at a resort in northeastern Ohio and there is a good mix of fans on both sides. We were watching in the bar with many people and the emotions were very high. (Mr R and I don’t care about either team.)
That last hit made me really cringe. It reminded me too much of the dirty plays Suh used to do when he was on the Lions. I despise that type of football.
ETA: I missed the whole 3rd quarter stuff. That makes everything make a bit more sense.
You don’t have to have a twitter to do this but if you search for #PITvsCIN on twitter, some of the things being posted are hilarious. (If, of course, you’re not emotionally invested in the Bengals.)
So sorry the Steelers won (not that I like Cinci but just can’t stand the alternative) but man what a sorry way to lose a game. Just when I’d given up hope it finally got interesting and just when I thought I’d seen the last of the Steelers Cinci found a way to blow it again.
I am a bundle of nerves. It’s been that kind of a season where they have been either decidedly brilliant or decidedly not. With all the running this game is going fast but it’s also a slog. :-S
They are definitely out of synch between the cold and the crowd noise. Hopefully the D can keep them in this long enough to get their collective acts together.
