Are you ready for some football?

True - some of what sets them apart is if they accept the flack even when it isn’t all on them. Wilson, after being heralded as a hero 2 weeks prior, was not sharp the last 2 weeks. Yesterday he was playing with a 3rd string center, a 2nd year replacement at LT a rookie LG a rookie RT and a RT who was converted last year from D line. His blocking tight end is out as well as the fullback. Essentially there was minimal run or pass blocking of note. He threw some high balls and just missed on several but he had no blocking and spent the last two weeks running for his life. Our morning show on the way in played a clip of Wilson’s post game along side a clip of one of Manning’s post game interviews. Guess which one threw his O line under the bus and complained about not getting protection.

To be clear . . . I am not at all a Romo hater. He just seems to have notably bad luck.

I am not a Romo hater. I am a Jerry Jones hater. And someone who thinks the Cowboys will never win the Big One with Romo at the helm.

xiggi, I have a friend who has said for a long time that if Jerry wanted a third-string QB from Cleveland he should have picked Colt instead of Weeden.

It’s easy to predict a team will not win the SB! Only one of 32 wins. It is also remarkably hard to repeat. Look at Seattle this year and the number of teams that did not make the playoffs after winning it all the previous year.

I have to agree with the bad luck involving Romo. In the past, a couple of inches precluded a possible run to the SB. But that applies to every team at one point or the other! I just happen to think that Romo has rarely been able to rely on a consistent cast of characters around him. His collection of injuries are a direct testament to the frailty of the line in front of him, and his belief he needs to carry the team through thick and thin. Few QBs share his escape ability and his knack to extend the plays. We do remember when his decisions do not work and remember his interceptions. What we forget is that many times without taking the same risks, there would not be no need to try to come back. The game against Denver last year was such an example.

Dallas, as it has been playing for years, needs Superman as a QB. Not even an excellent one like Tony Romo. Rodgers, Brady, the Mannings, Cam, Ben, or Luck would not have done any better, and the chances that the immobile ones would have looked utterly pathetic in most games.

But we will never know, won’t we!

I hate to be a hard nosed football grammarian, but I believe the correct word is “escapability” And if you don’t have escapability then you need to rely on a good dose of trickeration like the Rams do.

The butt-touchdown made C’MON MAN! :D

GO - COLTS - GO, COLTS, GO!!!

I love this game! Luck is just great.

Epic Manning smack down this weekend. Pre game it was all about hey Peyton must have called little bro and told him all the secrets to beating the Colts. That and Eli’s “subtle hand signals at the line”. So much for that! It’s so funny how Gruden backpedals and completely changes his story mid broadcast.

I’m really glad that the Texans are having a bye this week. They just need to breathe and gear themselves for what appears to be a tight race for the wildcard spots. The is still a hope that the Texans could win the division (very slight) but first they need to help Ryan Mallet get the Texans offense’s act together.

4th and 10…

Yess incomplete!! Alabama controls its playoff destiny.

Ha look at the silent tiger crowd. Wow getting accepted made me a lot more invested, even more than I usually would be ;)

Watching the Bills/Chiefs game but I missed the beginning. Does anyone know if any of the NFL teams are having pre-game ceremonies to honor veterans in advance of November 11?

All Canadian NHL games last night had large pre-game ceremonies and the stands were filled with hundreds of vets. This morning, the Leafs and Senators met at the War Memorial in Ottawa in memory of all fallen soldiers, in the spot where Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot to death two weeks ago. They were scheduled to play the game that night but postponed it until today.

Just curious if the NFL or college football is doing anything. I guess I’d be surprised if they did not.

I really hope Walker is okay. That was a monster hit

@alwaysamom‌ I saw them talking about on the the various pregame shows, and I think on ESPN they had a special about the flyover, but I too missed the start of the early games. I’m sure they will do something for the 3:00 and Sunday night game.

Dang! SF is on today. I need a Saints win.

College football had the red white and blue graphics on their helmets yesterday. My teach did anyway then I noticed that Mich. State did as well. I’m assuming that it was widespread.

GO SAINTS!!! Now defend . . .

I tried really hard to feel sorry for the Bears tonight, but just couldn’t.
(I just want them to take Aaron Rodgers out… no need to take unnecessary risks.)

:))

I just love that the Steelers lost to the Jets!

Ok so all I need is for Cam Newton to get me 100 points tomorrow night, while not throwing one pass to Kelvin Benjamin…

(Really Peyton, you just had to get 60 points today? And really Jimmy Graham, you just had to come back today and get your 25 points in? OK, Justin Forsett, you really decided on today of all days to score two touchdowns? SMH
