Are you ready for some football?

I guess it’s supposed to taper off tomorrow but there is some serious standing water on the roads. I’m just back from a round trip to Sea-Tac and it was treacherous.

Uh oh, my H has to drive there tomorrow, but it’s a on freeways, so I’m hoping it’s good. Didn’t rain that hard over here.

405 is really bad - I took I-5 to 90 home which was a bit better

Might as well go ahead and pay Percy

I do wonder if he gets a ring if they win out. Gotta love contracts

Actually the presence of forward-thinking voters (and the policies their voting leads to) is a huge source of jealousy for many people who live in less progressive places. Although I don’t hear as many people fantasize about moving to Seattle as they do Portland.

At a dinner gathering among friends last night, the football fans were in disbelief when I said that purportedly the Seahawks have a thuggish reputation, These folks are long time Giants fans who like tough football, the ‘three yards and a cloud of dust’ kind of offense.

Switching gears, did anyone read the recent Seattle Times story about ‘who is a real Seattle-ite’ and why non-natives can never be true Northwesterners? Seems to me that boat left the dock about 20 years ago. LOL.

I’m hoping that I get home from my interview today in time for the game  With Houston traffic, you never what you’re going to get.

I’ll start with the AFC. I want the Patriots to win. Maybe I’m not acknowledging my anger at the Colts for having a savior in Andrew Luck (I am) , but I want Brady to actually go to another superbowl, win, and have people stop with Brady’s decline from the earlier superbowl years. For the NFC…I don’t really know. Leaning Seahawks a little bit. What I do know is that it is going to be a helluva game!

Enjoy Championship Sunday everyone!!

@sally305, yes, 35 degrees IS “frigid.”

We are expecting temps in the upper 60’s today. Looking forward to a nice bike ride!

@teriwtt‌–There are few teams in sports that I have that I have the highest level of hatred for. None of them are NFL teams though.

To get to that level it takes a special combination of thuggish, dirty play, unlikeable players and a**hole fans.

Wind gusts to 50 mph over night and 65k people out of power. It’s going to be an interesting game. It isn’t gusting as hard right now, but still very windy.

Too bad they still consider Percy “active” for the Dallas game even though he refused to go out on the field in the 4th quarter causing Pete to give the cryptic press conference answer that sometimes you have to go with the packages and the people who are available to you at the time.

Pouring rain in Seattle . . .

Marshawn has custom gold leaf cleats for the game . . . there goes another $11,000

Checking in and so NERVOUS for today’s game! (Pack household here…)

Is Seattle a dome or not? (in reference to the rain above)

All I ever ask of my team in the playoffs is ONE WIN. Anything beyond that is gravy. Packers had a bye and then a win. Today, I hope for a good game and a healthy outcome at the end for Aaron. Can’t ask for anything more. But would not turn down a trip to the SB!!!

Best of luck with your teams today everyone!

No - outside

It is pouring and windy but our weather can change on a dime so it will likely shift many times during the game

The Seahawks have has some red zone trouble this year so a tough kicking day isn’t a good thing for us

Around here, if you can’t trace your local roots back to the Revolution, you are not a true New Englander.

I know people who have moved because of jobs, weather, lower cost of living, to be near family, to retire. I’ve never known one person who has moved because someplace is more “progressive”. (Unless you define “progressive” as “getting free money from the gov’t”, DW deals with people all the time who move to this area for the gov’t benefits. But I don’t think that is something to brag about.)

Trent Richardson didn’t make the trip to New England because of a family emergency, and will not play. I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth in Indy from here.

Schefter is reporting that the Colts are working on a contract extension which will make Luck the highest paid player in the league. They’ve got $37mil in cap space for next season at the moment, so they can do it. It’ll be interesting to see whether Luck or Wilson gets paid more.

On the downside, the Saints are $23mil over the cap for next year, and Brees is carrying a $26.4 mil cap number, which is over 18% of their cap for one player. That team is looking at some major changes. Romo’s cap hit next year is $27.8 million, although the Cowboys currently have some cap space and his number drops a lot after next year. However, Demarco Murray is a UFA, and it will be interesting to see what the Boys are willing to pay for him.

Flacco’s contract is looking pretty ridiculous a couple years down the road - in 2016 his cap hit is $28.5mil and for 2017 it is $31.1 mil.

It’ll be interesting to see if some teams are crippled because of their qb contracts or if they can restructure their way around them

Thanks Saintfan - here’s hoping for a good game to watch. (abasket now retreats to her side of the green/yellow side of the bleachers…)

Go Packers! Go DuJuan, and go Sam!
