are you usually on the giving end or receiving end of advice?

it’s something i sometimes think of.

perhaps younger siblings are more likely to be on the receiving end of advice - so they’re more used to being submissive.

i’m an elder sibling, though i’m usually on the receiving end of advice as well. people have acted really condescending to me in the past - and my reaction to such actions has usually been one of fearfulness rather than one of hostility. there have been some exceptions though - like the case where someone made me his confidant heh…

i wonder if it’s considered really inappropriate for a younger person to advise an older person. it certainly does seem awkward… even though a lot of younger people are wiser than a lot of older people. of course the younger are more liable to influence

by advice - i usually mean advice on behavior in general - not the type of advice that you would use as information (e.g., taking an AP exam in 10th grade and giving advice to someone taking it in 12th grade)
