<p>a new provost has been appointed to replace Thomas Rosenbaum who is leaving for CalTech.</p>

<p>I have only listened Eric Isaacs’ talk during last Spring’s admit student weekend. No direct talking to Thomas Rosenbaum either, though watched his “Aims of education” webcast this fall.</p>

<p>Provost position is very important IMO. Has anyone had personal contacts with either of them? Any thoughts regarding the personnel change at the top of UChicago?</p>

<p>i have met both rosenbaum and isaacs while working at uchicago this summer! their offices were in the same hallway as mine! they are both incredible, dedicated physicists, and are great candidates for any leadership position in my opinion!</p>
