I’d also like to add that even though we all “hate” our parents sometimes, we’ll miss them in college. Even if it’s for little things, like their cooking.

creatine- i don’t know what it does for musles but research shows that it helps delay alzheimers if you take it when your young. (young being a more relative term for under 60). So maybe you can tell your mom your also svaing your brain!

Well I really have about the best parents I could ask for so I don’t really have to do this but if you can lie well that makes it really easy to win arguments. When ever they make a point that can possibly be contradicted contradict it. I usually don’t because I like to argue and that cheapens it.

Also sarcasm is a good method when they say “I’m your parent so I’m right” respond with sarcasm something like “Great job you magaged to reproduce only an omniscient being could manage that.” That may only make them made at the time but I find if I stay calm and act like the whole thing is kinda funny people don’t respond as aggresively to these kinds of comments, and they are more effective than just saying “so”.

My don’t’s when arguing:
- walk away
- deliberately look like as if im uninterested (rolling the eyes, reading the nearest mag, etc…)
- walk off and slam the door
- sarcasm

My do’s:
- look down and pretend that im really sorry if the arguemnt is definetly in their favour
- bring out my opinion if my argument is strong enough, with a calm but raised, know-it-all voice… usually they say something like, “im really dissapointed in you” and they give up - but that makes me feel worse when they say that lol

hah this thread really took off

to the guy with the muscular friends who lost their muscularity, maybe it all atrophied, did they stop working out with the needed intensity? Creatine is very safe along with Whey protein for the beginning bodybuilder

sarcasm is great, I have mastered it since I got out of Middle School. lol if you guys have seen House M.D. , well that is basically my type of sarcasm it drives my parents crazy so when they realise they are not going to win the battle of wits they pull the indominable line “we are your parents, our word is final”

funny stuff

Prism, youwill get more sympathy with the creatine story at bodybuilding.com’s teen section fyi. :P

hah I would post it there, but the average intelligence on that board is double digits at best…

omg prism, i just had the exact argument with my parents about creatine -_-
and they’re both Ph.Ds so you’d think they’d be logical about this. but NO. whatever, when i can drive i’ll buy some, heh

The problem with creatine is that it can lead to steroids. But that would only be a problem if you’re a complete idiot and like getting juide injected into your ass by another man.

wow CC lets us say ass? amazing. ass ass ass ass ass ass…look I said it six times…! ass. seven.

Arguing with one’s parents is essentially worthless. While you might win the argument in the short term, realistically they are the one’s who control the purse strings and are also the one’s who have the benefit of life’s experiences. I have actually learned that if you give them a chance, your parents might just be able to give you some valuable insight.

Yeah bendrumfont is right. I had an arugemtn with my mother in the afternoon. She said that I can do whatever I like from now on, without her guidance and her support. At the time i was like - yeah whatever…

But I didnt get dinner
So i’ve been eating cookies
and Im still hungry

Uh no. definitely not.

um, just dont tell them why you need to go? just say im going to the mall be back in 20. you should know what to tell your parents and what will tick them off.

I’ve mostly passed the stage of my life (8th grade to mid-11th grade) where I argued with my parents a lot. I was less mature and stressed at school, they were stressed at work… not a formula for peace & harmony.

Now I get along fabulously with my mom; she is one of my best friends, even if sometimes I feel like, because she is from Brazil and doesn’t understand the college deal, she doesn’t understand what I’m talking about with regard to school, grades, and college. My dad is less pleasant, but I deal. I think college is going to work wonders for our relationship.
