Argument

I have trouble with the CR type of questions that center around how one author would say something to weaken the argument of the other.

Any help, tips, etc please?!

Do you have an actual example question from the Blue Book?

Let me see…(this is from the online course, but this is the type of question):

All you have to do for those questions is think of the main points the author uses in the passage to present his argument. Then, look for an answer in which one of those points is severely crippled or made useless.

For example, if I am arguing that global warming is a serious threat to the world and my main point is that icecaps have begun to melt around the poles, the correct answer would be something like “icecaps have always been melting at a steady rate for many centuries.”
