Arizona mini-vacation in February

Our family is planning to go to a wedding in Mesa, AZ in February and would like to extend our time there to escape from our Northeast winter for a little longer. Our group will consist of my husband and myself, daughter and 1 year old grandson, two sons and one GF. All of the “kids” are adults, my husband and I are in our early 60’s. On vacations we generally like to walk, hike, shop, swim, eat out, cook a little, go to museums, catch a sporting event and get in some history if there’s something interesting around. Not mountain biking or whitewater rafting. We’ve all been to Arizona once or twice before.

Willing to go up to two hours from Mesa. Would really not like the temps to be below freezing. We have enough of that at home. Would most likely rent an airbnb house for 5 days or so. We do have a place rented in Mesa for the wedding so could just extend that.

How about Sedona? Or Tucson?

Or…there are some nice resorts in Scottsdale that might be appealing, especially with the one year old. And that is close enough to Phoenix to enjoy all that is there.

West Fork Trail which is North of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon was an amazing hike for us. We hiked it in the summer so not certain about February. In the summer, it would be a joy for a family with one little one with the stream crossings and amazing scenery.
