I’ve been looking at a variety pack of different schools that offer Anthropology degrees. The department at Tempe seemed interesting with it’s blending of many different fields with anthropology. It seemed my style, but of course any good university website is an excellent salesman. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the school, the anthro department in particular and the area of Tempe. Thanks in advance!

lots of parties available, massive student body, and a great honors college

tempe is a very new city, like phoenix, but its not run down or anything (but you can find run down parts anywhere if you look hard enough)

ASU is a good school. I liked Tempe when I visited in December for New Year’s.

There are really two resources I know of for Anthropology rankings - The Gourman Report and the NRC rankings. Gourman rates ASU at #31 for Anthropology, while the NRC rates the prorgram at #26.

U Arizona is actually the school in the state known for their Anthropology department, ranking 5th in Gourman and 5th in the NRC rankings. I have listed the Gourman Report rankings below and linked the NRC rankings.
