Good story about the Army-Navy game.

I’ve been to the Army-Navy game four times, and I would recommend that IF you can get an actual seat, then by all means go and have a great time. There really is no other experience like it.

However, I would caution anyone on going on a standing-room-only basis. I just don’t think that would be much fun. Seriously. If that were my only option, I’d stay home and watch it on the boob tube and at least be somewhat comfortable.

But hey! To each his own! :)

BTW, the article I posted above is about the Army-Navy game…of Sprint Football.

Very interesting.

Army Grads Will be flying 2 of the Navy Jets…

Paul Campagna (USMA '93) and I, Bobby Baker (USMA '93), both currently serve as Naval Aviators in Strike Fighter Squadron 86 (The Sidewinders). Paul acts as the maintenance officer while I serve as the tactics and training officer. We both fly F/A-18C single seat hornets and just finished combat operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq while deployed in the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). Recently we flew together as a section in support of Coalition forces in Afghanistan. We were called upon to employ ordnance and that significant event brought to light the probable fact that the last time two West Point Grads employed weapons in combat together from fighter/attack jet aircraft was probably Vietnam or possibly Korea/World War II. It was truly a great experience that Paul and I will never forget.
The main reason that I am writing is to inform everyone that Paul and I will be flying 2 of the 4 hornets for the flyby at the Army-Navy game this year. I’m pretty sure that two West Point grads flying Navy jets over the Army-Navy game has never happened. I find this event truly remarkable and am totally stoked to be given this opportunity from our Boat School (Annapolis Grad) CO. Some may think of us as traitors (When I transferred to the Navy, my grandfather actually wrote a letter to the Army Soccer Coach apologizing for my decision), but believe me when I tell you that we’re making the U.S. fighting force much more lethal with a focus towards
servicing bad guys on the ground. It’s gonna be a great game and we’re looking forward to reuniting with old friends. BEAT NAVY!!!

Thank You,

Saw this response on the parents net.

wonder what the story is behind it.

“Don’t worry! My husband, a Marine and Naval Aviator
for more than 25 years, will be the lead pilot in the
lead Cobra of the four doing the Army part of the
flyover. The Cobras are amazing! They may be painted
gee-whiz Army Black and Gold, but inside that lead is
a real live Marine!”
