Art schools.

After about a total of 30+ hours running around looking at websites, I've concluded that most of them exist for profit when people click the school's link/get info link, etc and that's absolutely no help at all.

I'm currently considering Animation (BFA) or Game Design (BFA).

So far, I've found one school to add to my list - Academy of Art University in San Fran.

Anyone got any recommendations, thoughts, or suggestions? It doesn't matter WHERE in California. It doesn't really matter if it's in CA either. If needed, I will find the means to relocate.

Thanks.

What about Art Center in Pasadena, or CalArts? You also may want to check out Parsons, Pratt and School of visual arts in New York

where can i find a good school of arts that majors in Dance in california, thats affordable.?

We went and visited Academy of Art University in San Francisco, it is the epitome of "for profit" in that any question we ask we got a "Yes", basically they will take anyone who applies and who has the $$ to give them....and it is not cheap!

Midnight, do you want a "real" college or an art school? It makes a big difference. For a "real School" Drexel University in Philadelphia has a great game design degree, otherwise in CA you should also check out Otis, along with the other schools mentioned.

Natalie 7, have a look at CSU Fullerton, UCSB, CSU Long Beach, UCI. If your grades and test scores are excellent, Chapman gives great merit aid, making it very affordable.

I would love to attend Art Center, Cal Arts, LCAD or even Academy of Art, but the tuition is way out of my budget. If it helps any I've applied to CSUF, SJSU and CSULB for a B.F.A in Illustration. From what I can gather about SJSU they have a good (but highly competitive) B.F.A program with Animation/Illustration emphasis. I think CSUF offers a B.F.A Animation/Entertainment Art emphasis.
