art

i’m a great artist and was always at the top of my class in school and in EC art classes. i’m a natural (it runs in my family. my father is amazing… he could have made a career out of it. my mothers pretty good.) and i LOVE IT… but i dont have a portfolio because i haven’t been in practice for a while (well, i draw on my backs of my notebooks and stuff but i dont have anything that would look appropriate in a frame) because i’m doing independent study and the stuff i do have doesn’t attest to my current level of skill because it’s froma few years ago (although it’s amazing for that grade level) what do i do? i really am a great artist and it would count in the admissions but i’m not sure how to prove it? could i call up on old teacher or something? this is one “extra points” category that i know i definitely deserve.

you need to send in a portfolio if you want them to actually “see” your work… i don’t know what you would gain out of calling up an old teacher. if they’re “extra points” you know you deserve, then show it to the adcoms.

i don’t have a portfolio! i haven’t done anything finished in a long time. do you think i could send like, unfinished sketches jsut to demonstrate raw talent?
