ARTIFICIAL CHRISTMAS TREE HELP

I am looking to buy an artificial Christmas tree as a gift, of course I must turn to the expert CC shoppers. I am looking for one probably about 6 1/2’, slim type to fit in smaller spaces, pre lit with clear bulbs and a price point of $250 or less. Not looking for a cheap one that will look shoddy after a few years, and need shipping available. I have looked online extensively but without seeing them in person, it is making it hard to choose.

Can you visit a local store that carries the model(s) in question?

Have you looked at Costco?

This one is 7.5’, but they also have one that is only 5’.

Go to a Target, Costco, or Michael’s and look at what you want, then order online and have shipped.

Thanks for the idea’s, I don’t have transportation to get to stores to look at them, that’s why I was looking for suggestions. Thanks teriwtt, will look at that…wasn’t sure on the height I want as I need to figure in the topper as well.

I’ve had success with the pre lit trees from Target. We switched to fake trees 20+ years ago when we had an antique house and I was scared of the fire threat of a real tree. I find I need to replace them about every six years or so. Look for a slim tree on their website and the quality will be good.

We have the Costco tree. It has only been used for two years so I can’t make longevity claims but we really like it. The lights are multicolored if you step on the switch once and white if you do it twice.

…“The lights are multicolored if you step on the switch once and white if you do it twice…”

That’s pretty cool. I take back my vote for Target and vote for the Costco tree. We haven’t had a Costco card since my youngest (15) was in diapers though.

I’d just head to Home Despot.

Oohhh, I like that multicolor to white option! I’m a crazy tree lady and have way too many trees already but it would be interesting to see the same decorations lit multiple ways. I love costco and would expect a tree from there to be of good quality.

Typo or commentary? :))

I saw some very pretty slim models with lights in this price range…at Home Depot this weekend.

What you want is one like the Costco one mentioned above, that has some more realistic tips to the branches…think plastic needles vs fabric needles.
We don’t have the slim Costco one but have had the 9’ full sized one for four or five years. Love it.
(ETA, with allergies, a live Christmas tree is not a consideration in our household, as much as I love them)

Hammacher Schlemmer has a variety of trees in different sizes and different widths. We’ve had two of their prelit trees for years and are happy with them.

I recently saw Christmas trees on sale at JCPenney’s, online only. I think there are several in your price range.

Has anyone recently found artificial trees made someplace other than China? Years ago, I bought some from JCP that were made in Mexico (materials from the US) and they were passed on to our kids, but I think their current ones are all made in China.

Have you looked at QVC? The trees they feature always look beautiful.

These folks have a sale- ends tonight. http://www.balsamhill.com/Artificial-Christmas-Trees-s/1.htm

^^^ Very nice tress LF!

My friend has one of their trees. It is one of the better artificial trees I have seen. Almost made me buy one!

We also have the Costco tree and like it. Going on a third year of use. Their “anytime for any reason” return policy, along with the competitive price, was the clincher for us.
