I see that Wesleyan does not offer a minor in visual arts. Wondering if anyone can chime in on the accessibility of art classes for non majors. Thx!
Reach out to the department and ask.
Was definitely planning on doing that but often the answers from schools don’t match student experience. Just trying to get a real sense of accessibility.
Wesleyan’s site appears to offer information on this through “Past Enrollment Probability.” For this sculpture class, for example, it states that it was “Less than 50%”:

Although it seems possible or likely that declared studio arts majors would be favored for enrollment, you may need to research this further for a clear determination.
Thank you for this info! I wasn’t quite sure how to read this. Do those numbers show type of student currently enrolled in the class ?
eg: junior non major 3?
Appreciate this link.
This represents a “bin” to be filled as part of the desired distribution of students in the class. For this particular class, it appears that (declared) majors are given lower priority (which seems to be bssed on this being an introductory course). For a better sense of how Wesleyan’s policies might impact you, you can view all of its currently offered studio arts classes here.
Thank you! Appreciate the help.
