Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does submitting an arts supplement really do for an applicant? I’m planning to apply to Stanford during my senior year and I think it’s a no-brainer that I should send in an arts supplement since I believe I could impress the adcoms, but what would it really do?

I sent in an arts supplement. Couldn’t tell you if it helped or not, but I got in so I think it did. Really it shows that whatever your arts achievements are on paper they are also a certain level in reality. And supplements never hurt, so if I were you I’d do it.

For some schools, supplements are sent directly to the heads of departments and such, so if they listen/look at it and like it then can recommend the school accept you.
