Arts/theatre/dance administration

After a visit to Otterbein and hearing about their art administration emphasis that can be done with the theatre BA, D is thinking this sounds like a very appealiing route. For her what was ideal about Otterbein was that she could add a dance minor which would still give her options to perform. I know OKU has a dance administration program as an undergraduate degree.
Do people know of others, or have suggestions for how we might go about finding out if places allowed this as a sort of integrated degree?

If I remember correctly, Viterbo had a Arts Admin major

I will check as originally we were from Madison and D thinks she really wants to go back to WI (of course she was 8 when we moved and life was much simplier then.)

University of the Arts offers a BFA in Theater Management and Production along with a minor in Musical Theater.

The College of Charleston has an Arts Management BA in which they encourage students to double major or minor in another discipline. They also offer majors and minors in Theatre and a minor in Dance.
The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point offer a BA in Arts Management. Within the major you take courses in business, communication, arts management as well as 12 credits from any of the areas of music, theatre, dance, or art. You can also choose a minor such as theatre to attach to the degree, or you could double major as well. The Theatre and Dance program at UWSP is excellent, and you should DEFINITELY consider it if you are looking to return to Wisconsin :)

PM me if you have any other questions about the university!

thanks fishbowl and MichaelNKat
It looks like there are two ways these degrees go, one attached with the business schools and one more geared towards the production side. I’m not really sure which D is thinking of right now. She’s gone for the summer but I will send on the links and she can look at the differences.
Fishbowl - when I was looking at the College of Charleston site, I saw that my husbands ex-wife is working there now. She knew my D when she was a toddler - it would be funny for her to show up there now! Husband and ex and on good enough terms, it was just odd.

Will check out UWSP. My own personal biases hang about SP (the city) are still in play so it isn’t somewhere I would want D to rush to. But I guess that was 20 years ago and hopefully it has changed some. I spent my college years in central Wisc. Of course D knows none of that.

I don’t know if you meant Oklahoma University above, but I do know that OCU has a really good program in Dance and Entertaiment Management. I think it is through the School of Dance.

Hartt has a BA program in perfoming arts management.

I think Wagner might, also…

Marymount Manhattan offers a minor in arts managemnent. Great location(NYC) for internships
