As Deadlines Pass

Originally I started with a massive list of schools I was considering. I later narrowed it down to ten, but then added two more later. I have applied to twelve schools, but still as most deadlines have passed every time I hear the mention of one I decided to cut I momentarily panic. Most of the schools I decided not to apply to I hadn’t visited so I was truly unsure whether I would ever like the campuses and the surrounding environment. Anyway, are any other seniors going through the same thing, that momentary “what if” panic?

As sort of a disclaimer, I do believe I will love wherever I end up. This is just a curious question.

As a parent versus a student, I can tell you that I have had those feelings with all of my kids as deadlines approached. I think what you are experiencing is totally normal. I am sure many send in “bonus” applications simply because the looming final deadline freaks them out a little. It’s the scared of “missing the sale” (why we buy things we don’t really need because of a sales price that is ending) kind of feeling that drives it, totally normal reaction.
