Lawl if the only reason you want to get surgery for your eyes is for the benefit to look better, (presumably for males), you should just get therapy instead.

u shuld become indian then. WE indians have huge eyes and we are conveniently located on the Asian sub-continent.

I’m Asian and I found this to be really funny. I don’t have a bad case of squinty eyes (like most Koreans do) but honestly, I think it’s stupid to get eyelid surgery lol. It’s not bad to have squinty eyes.

haha i’m asian too. and i have no fold, crease whatsoever… although my eyes aren’t as small as other asians… i’m happy with my eyes even though i don’t have the folds. surgery costs money: use that for college people! not for your appearance! besides, it’s unnatural. do you want your future husband/wife to find an old picture of you and not be able to recognize you? that would be horrible

Hmmm… I don’t have the typical Asian eyes and I’m 100% Chinese. I have obvious creases and bigger eyes.

But yeah, I have a cousin who had surgery for it because she had VERY VERY small eyes.

Personally, I wouldn’t do it.

The pressure to look perfect is really high in Asian society; I’m Korean and I know that first-hand. But from what I gather, the surgery rarely works well and the results are far from satisfactory. Love the skin you’re in <3

God dam lil buddy I have small eyes too and I love it! Like e.g. when you’re at the beach, all your friends are getting sand all up in their eyes and you’re like YAHHHHH I’M CLEAN, YO

Secondly, you are less susceptible to receive cataracts when you’re old.

eyelid surgery sounds like a super terrible idea. flaunt what youve got, i know a bunch of white kids who would kill for asian eyes. besides, i feel like that kind of surgery wouldnt age well either…

M, what about those girls at school? The super pretty ones, (you know who I’m talking about) they’re Asian too, and they’re super gorgeous. It’s all about the makeup I think. Hehehehehehe, on our crazy marathon/camping trip I am SO gonna try and give you a makeover!!! It’ll be fun!

I actually know some relatives/old friends who got that eye surgery thing. I mean, they look fine afterwards but the difference really isn’t that big…
It’s not like they got a billion times prettier. And it’s surgery…it can’t be a good thing.

A guy should like you for who you are…not just because you have big/pretty eyes.

I’m Asian…and although my eyes aren’t squinty or tiny or anything…I really hated it back in like middle school but now I personally don’t mind anymore. I’ve just accepted that everyone looks different and being different isn’t a bad thing. Plus, it’s kinda cute and a little touch of mascara and a good shade of eyeshadow can do wonders. Don’t overdo it though…it’ll look weird but just a touch can look really really cute and makes your eyes seem a big bigger/more noticeable. It makes me stand out amongst my friends! (Who all have super big eyes and like brown or blonde hair) So I like it :)

Thanks, you guys! I love all the comments about not changing who you are. =]

Well, I have no double eyelid or whatever as I am Asian as well. I am actualy supposed to get the surgery for medical reasons (eyelashes scratching cornea), but I don’t think I will because I don’t want to change the way I look. Sometimes, I do wish I had double lids too. I find that most guys do not find my eyes particularly attractive (they are pretty large for an Asian and almond shaped. Not just a line or really squinty or anything), but then again, some guys (especially those that are a couple years older than me) think they are super sexy ;).

I don’t think you should change your eyes because somebody will LOVE your eyes and find them incredibly attractive. I wouldn’t have surgery unless my medical reason persisted and made my eye sight worse. For now, wearing contact lenses are protecting my cornea, but if I get LASIK (which I want too…hate contacts), then I will probably have to have eye lid surgery :(.

stop being such an abject neophyte

accept your eyes for what they are. at least you aint some blind ■■■■ omg… my eyes aren’t attractive cuz they got folds. go get some serious counseling if you really think like this because seriously… *** mate???

Wooooow… Be proud of what you were born with… why conform??? I can tell that your school doesn’t have that many Asians to connect with…

my mom got that surgery when she was younger, and seriously, you can’t really tell.

Im Asian too, but I just have to LOL @ this thread. hahaa

very few people are born with a perfect face…i bet everyone here can benefit from a little good plastic surgery. dont rule it out for “be who you are!!” and sunshine and rainbows…btw, im of the enhancing what youve got school of thought…not advocating like, a lot of change…just a few tweaks here and there

Because I’m an adult, I usually don’t post here, so I hope you don’t mind.

However, I’ve always thought that Asian eyes are beautiful, and I have never understood why Asians wanted to change their eyes.

When I was young, I used to hold tight my skin around my eyes so they looked like Asian eyes. I wasn’t trying to make fun of Asian people: I was trying to beautify myself.

I personally have never heard anyone say that they thought Asian eyes were ugly.

Northstarmom…wow where do you live? I wish I lived there. :]

I’m another fan of Asian eyes. IMHO, the result of surgery often looks awful/creepy and is a complete turnoff.
