Asian Population

I was accepted to Syracuse for Biotechnology and I’m most likely going to end up going to Syracuse!

I was wondering, how is the Asian population in the school? I’m Korean and I would prefer to have a roommate who is Korean as well ;;

Below is some information from the Syracuse website. I believe the Asian population for the undergraduate student body is higher than the university as a whole. First year undergraduate students of color represent 32% of last year’s freshman class versus 25.8% for the university. You can request a roommate in May, but that roommate must request you as well. You will need each other’s SUID #s. Otherwise, roommate selection is random. Good luck to you. DD will be attending this fall. Syracuse has been awesome thus far!

STUDENT DEMOGRAPHICS The total student population at Syracuse University represents all 50 U.S. states and 123 countries. The full-time undergraduate student population consists of 55 percent women and 45 percent men.

FIRST-YEAR STUDENT PROFILE The incoming class of 3,487 students has a mean high school GPA of 3.6; consists of 32 percent students of color; and 16 percent first-generation students. The entering student population consists of 55 percent women and 45 percent men.

DIVERSITY Minority students represent 25.8 percent of the total student population of 21,267. This includes 7.7 percent African Americans; 6.7 percent Asian Americans; 8.6 percent Hispanics; 0.6 percent Native Americans; and 2.2 percent of two or more races.
