(Mike- There is, of course, a difference between Notre Dame and Chicago when it comes to matters of faith. Notre Dame is, after all, a Jesuit school. University of Chicago is not affiliated with any one denomination. I do believe, however, that there are probably a number of “believers” at UChicago…as there are at any school. However, I doubt you will find the evangelical foot-washing Baptist at UChicago because Chicago prides itself on a progressive learning, and many faiths do not allow for such progress in thinking. By the way, this is the internet, and I doubt CC is very representative of any particular school.)

No, you shouldn’t. Otherwise you are in grave danger of Having No Life.

First favorite- saturday aka sleeping in, as opposed to getting 3 hours of sleep (this actually happened twice on a school night b/c i had 4 physcis labs to do, 2 of which he sprung on us that day)

Second favorite, to answer your question is sunday, because I am not completely larthargic from my 12 hours of sleep (17 one night), and can spend the day with my family not streesing about anything at all.

Question- what are good questions to ask for my off campus University of Rochester interview today at 4:45?

Plural is culs-de-sac. Attorney general is Attorneys General (I had to look this one up). The site said that general is the adjective, not attorney, so you need to make attorney plural as opposed to general. That’s the coolest thing I’ve learned all day :)

And yeah, I thought 3 hours was pretty bad- I generally get 4.5, since I go to bed around 2. I suppose that’s why I’m not going to Chicago for college :)

But I already know what sets rochester apart- it’s my ED school, and I’ve visited campus 3 times, even though I live 6 hours away. I visited twice for tours and info sessions and once for a class visit and an overnight. So, I pretty much have a good feel of the campus, the students, and the academics. The deciding factor though were the students, becasue I could definately see myself befriending a lot of them. I want to ask questions that show me to be very interested in the school, while at the same time being knowledgeable about the school. I am plaaning on asking more about research, and how to get involved, but I think I should ask a question that shows the kind of person I am, and not just that I want to do research.

sorry bendrumfront, apparently I cut in while I was typing my long response. I’ll answer your question now, but still want mine to be answered.

Yes, I do have a job. I am a substitute aide at the temple near my house. I generally am called every week to go in, though I have to switch which class I help depending upon who’s absent. I get paid 7 dollars for 2 hours, which is highway robbery, but I would do it for free, so I guess I can’t complain.

So, for my question, refer to the response directly above this one :)

Ask about the research- you should ask questions that you really want to know the answers to. Your interest in the school and “the kind of person you are” should come through in the way you speak and answer the interviewer’s questions. And as you talk, maybe something will come up that you can ask about.

Whoops on the spelling of attorney…don’t know why I thought it had a u.

is there a difference b/t root beer and birch beer? Not quite sure, so I probably like them both the same if I haven’t noticed a difference. And I don’t really drin soda anyway- bad for the lining of your stomache, not to mention the sugar… Though sometimes I get serious cravings and have to ignore my brain, not that soda is a cause of death. Unless you have diabetes, I would assume.

After that little spiel, my question is again for a specific question to try to ask during URochester interview today. I would like to have one or two prepared, in addition to the ones that I’m sure will pop up throughout it.
