I’m assuming whoever said that was feeling a bit down that day  sorry-- wanted to respond haha

metonymy-- when I finish reading the book i will hopefully have a far greater understanding of oscar wilde than my reading of only 52 pages allows-- when I get to that point you WILL IM me and discuss this with me-- and it’s not nerdy-- it’s cool :)

is it strange that i constantly wear a ponytail holder around my wrist all the time even though I only put my hair up at night so it’s out of my face?

ah! serious edit: white milk. only use it to cover my cereal anyway, and the chocolate would be strange looking even though I don’t taste the milk much anyway.

refer to my previous post

hmmm…it’s sorta strange that you don’t wear your hair tie, but i could see why you do it ;D

Do you dislike certain people because they negatively resemble too much of yourself?

Yes, junior, yes I absolutely do.

Horrible flaw of mine, I’m afraid.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Ever read his stuff? What’s your favorite book of his?

Yep, I’ve only read crime and punishment though so that’s my favorite.

Did you ever realize how great life can be if you don’t think about school/grades/work?

Sartre said “L’enfer, c’est les autres,” metonymy. One of my favorite quotations.

Ever read any Sartre?

Ahhh the Existentalist? No, just quotes :(

Camus?

Mais oui :)

Ever read anything by Haruki Murakami?

YES!!! Love the man! I’m so excited that somebody else has actually heard of Haruki-San! Man, I knew the Chicago boards were the place to be!

Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World is my favorite book of his, but I also REALLY enjoyed Kafka on the Shore!

Where I live nobody has ever heard of him and they’re not interested in reading him. IMO he’s the best, or one of the very best living writers.

Name another “obscure” author that you think we haven’t heard of, that you consider really good :)

i love daviid sedaris…yay for outlandish humor.

what are your favorite moviessssss?

Dave Eggers isn’t particularly unconventional, but since most people have only heard of/read AHWOSG I guess you could say he’s one of my favorite “obscure” living authors (again, obscure in the sense that his other books are not as over-hyped). If you get the chance, read How We Are Hungry. It is absolutely amazing.

Also, Harold Bloom is the grand daddy of everything great in modern literary criticism. He’s not particularly obscure, either, but I don’t know very many people who have read his books.

savenola22, I’m glad you recognize the Hell quote  It’s one of my favorites, too.

What ism do you identify yourself with?

EDIT
I love David Sedaris!

favorite movie = Amelie

same question

I don’t really enjoy movies that much

Do you like musical theater?

as in musicals? i liked avenueq. however film-wise, musicals are terrrrrible (aka dreamgirls)

any pie lovers out there?

pie is infinitely better than cake ;p

given the choice of either running 3 miles or walking 6, which do you take? All at the same time, no break.

Running 3

Given the choice of running 3 miles on a nature trail or drinking hot chocolate with a good book…would you choose the run like I would?

i would go for the hot chocolate.

science/math or english/history?

I run 3 miles everyday to work out, so I’d take the change of scenery and run.

The book and hot chocolate is meh. I’d prefer just the book. And that’s another thing I do everyday.

EDIT: sorry.

I would’ve said english/history earlier on in high school, but as I’ve gone on… Science and math are something I enjoy more because they’re changing at a faster pace than e/h.

Hard choice though. Very hard.

Have you seen 300 yet?

yesh. better than sin city, but not by much.

facebook anyone?

I guess.

Do you use AIM Triton?

Nah, I use Adium on mac

As a guy it’s kind of weird to ask this question, but hey, I’m bored and I can’t think of a better question…

What’s your least favorite uber-expensive european purse making company?

(Ex. Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dolce Gabanna…)

I find them all pretty laughable, but I always love hearing girls talking about this and giving the reasons why they don’t like such and such company.
