I had heard that the other bike shop is better too, but my D didn’t listen to me and went for the closest and easiest location. She was happy with her bike purchase but hasn’t needed any repairs yet. She told me that last year the DPS auction bikes went quickly and there was a big crowd of disappointed students.

I know this has been asked many times before, but aside from RateMyProfessors, what’s a good site for ratings? And why did the USC Senate Guide shut down?

They made a new one: [USC Undergraduate Student Government](http://senate.usc.edu/courseguide/)
But its nowhere close to the old one.

What can I expect at the Transfer orientation? (For those of you that got in as transfers.) I haven’t received a schedule or any instruction other than ‘sign in at Parkside’. Thanks.

Ok, so I love fruit, milk and cereal. They are all (along with water) HUGE staples in my diet. Is there anywhere on campus where I can use my dining dollars to get produce and boxes of cereal or something like that?

You can take a piece of fruit out from the dining halls (they’re limiting it to 1 after people repeatedly carried about half a dozen out at a time). Cereal and milk can be bought in TroGro (in Birnkrant) or Commons.

approximately how far are the beds off of the ground? more than two feet, right? I wanted to get some of those plastic drawers for extra storage, and i just thought i would check before i made the purchase. thanks in advance!

I think it can be as high as 3 feet off the ground, enough to fit the chest of drawers underneath.

The beds depend on your housing location. For example, beds in Pardee are different from beds in Trojan Hall. Some can be put up pretty high, while others can’t. However, they all have some space underneath them to put some stuff.

okay broad question…
BEST thing about USC. What makes you love USC…makes everything all worth it?

lewis208: You can also get bed raisers (I think that’s what they’re called), should you wish to elevate the bed even higher.

socaldom-i just went to transfer orientation on tuesday, and i think what i loved about it was that the moment i stepped foot on campus it just felt like HOME. when i met everyone in my department, it was like i had a built-in family and my advisor is the coolest ever, and it is just a wonderful place to excel in academics (and for me, a safe haven to pursue creativity, which is something that i need to have). they aren’t kidding when they keep saying welcome to the family because it’s TRUE!

oh cool! im excited. you mentioned you were pursuing creativity? what field?

socaldom-acting (film/tv/musical theatre). the BA theatre program has a professional leave option where so long as i tell my professors and i maintain passing grades, i can go work, which is important. it really is a wonderful program and it really shows that USC is very hands-on when it comes to experience in major fields, especially since i’ve worked in the field since i was 16.

My freshman D has not received any info about buying football tickets? Did we miss something? I thought I read earlier about students being notified via their email.

JAKNd, has your d registered yet? I think info about football tickets are only sent out after the orientation. We haven’t received anything because our orientation won’t be till Aug.

Dont worry about football seats… your D/S will be given a chance to get tickets.

I was wondering when the meal plans actually start. Is it on move-in day or the first day of school? (I have the Cardinal plan which gives ten meals at EVK or Parkside a week. Does that mean that the week starts on a Wednesday?)

Meal plans start on Move In Day. Definitely by dinner, maybe by lunch or breakfast.

Can anyone tell me what’s the average GPA for a Viterbi tranfer student. I’m an international student at PCC right now, wanna study chemical engineering and maybe a minor at USC. Also, does it really affect my tranfer possibilities if I don’t complete 2 courses (math and physics) from the suggested requirements?
