can you bunk beds, say in new/north?

does anyone have any experiences with the airport shuttle service? Is one better than another for transportation from LAX?

i hope u get this, but usc is going to be a reach school for me especially since i live out of state. is there ANYTHING i can do to get in with a horrible 3.1 gpa, but an ok 2100 SAT score??? help would be appreciated!!

OOS won’t hurt you at USC because USC is private.

smoltz08 - Yes, you can bunk beds in New/North.

My son took Super Shuttle to USC from LAX airport for orientation. Super Shuttle worked out fine. Don’t worry.

Ill second Super Shuttle, I have used it probably 4 or 5 times (and never had a problem). You can even book the shuttle online.

I cant say it’s better than any other shuttle service because it’s the only one I’ve used… but it has yet to fail me.

Film production is great there - but only 5 students get to direct at thesis film while the other film students have to work on those 5’s sets. How does this affect future careers for those film production graduates who did not get to direct? Sure they have new marketable skills but what if they wanted to direct?

Thanks for the airport shuttle info.

I used Prime Time Shuttle last time, and nothing went wrong! Of course, Super Shuttle also has great service.

Do you know much about USC engineering program?
I am truly interested in their chemical engineering program, but people have told me that UCSB has a better chem department so now I’m trying to make up my mind. Also, what do you know about the sororities in USC? I want to be part of one but have no idea how to start!
I am hoping to tranfer next fall as I am completing my requirements.

How does double majoring work at USC? If I am doing Business (primarily), do I just select another major and do both at the same time?

Are there certain restrictions on the majors that require us to choose those that are more compatible (or go along better) with each other?

Do I pay more for tuition if I decide to double-major?

I apologize if some of my queries have already been addressed earlier in this thread, as I haven’t been able to look through all the pages.

Thanks :)

You do both majors at the same time.

The only restriction, really, is time, especially if you want to finish in 4 years. USC encourages study in diverse fields, such as double majoring in Chemistry/History, or Business/Classics. The more courses you need in your first major, the less time you’ll get to complete your second unless you take summer courses. Basically, work out how long it would take you to finish the Business major, and then see if you can complete the courses for your second major at the same time. Some majors may be more compatible in that some courses/prerequisites will overlap, saving you time. (wow that was convoluted.) What major are you thinking of?

You don’t pay for extra tuition as long as you take 18 units or less per semester. Summer semesters will cost extra though.

I’m thinking of doing Business with a language, most probably French. Is that considered to be a major/minor combination? How common and manageable is that?

Also, does this combination qualify me for the Renaissance Scholar program?

ycang - That could be a major/minor or double major combination.
I think it’s quite manageable (though I should really let the business students advise you on that).

Just wanted to ask if the tuition fee is the same whether you take 12-18 units, is that correct?

Thanks!

That is correct. Tuition is the same whether you take 12 or 18 units.

I know everyone asks, but what are my chances for Admission…really?

I joined the Marines after H.S; now I’m ready to move on…
My H.S GPA was 3.4
SAT 2180
Sports Football, Baseball, Wrestling & Track.
No clubs; Honors classes etc…

I heard that this year’s average GPA was 3.8. It was a really tough year to get into the top schools. Your SAT is excellent.

What is the purpose of Application I? Does it really better your chances? What if you are going to retake the SAT??

Also how much does the interview help your chances?

Can recommendations, interview and essay really increase your chances of getting in if your SATs aren’t that amazing?
