Ask a USC student anything!

Is the TAP program extremely selective? According to my research, I must be admitted in USC first (notified April 1st) before being admitted into TAP (notified May 1st). However, if they tell me whether or not I’m into TAP on May 1st, which is the due date for admission response for my other schools, does that mean that I have to hit it or miss it with USC TAP program? xD Thanks!

I took SOCI 150 last year. Super boring, but easy.

I’m a spring admit majoring in business. I’m a bit worried that I will fall behind schedule. Based on my AP tests, I know I will get credit for Calc AB, Macro and Micro Econ, English (lang and lit), Chinese, Physics, US Govt, Euro history… I am going to attend CC in the fall. What other classes (besides English and Math) should I take in order to stay in task with everyone else???

hello. i want to get into an accelerated pharmacy program but i heard that after you finish the two years of the undergrad part, you have to apply and interview again for the graduate and pharmacy part of the program. what am i supposed to do if i get rejected? can i apply to a different school with an accelerated pharmacy program as well what…?=/

Gayle Fiedler-Vierma is the director of the spanish program I believe, shes not your actual professor. Her name is on every class.

Help,

Looking for a great meal plan without eathing at EVK. I was there last week at orientation, and the food was really bad. Any advice on best places to eat, and meal plans etc…

thanks

Did you go to Parkside? The Lot? Cafe 84? I personally like the food place in Popovich hall but few people know about it.

Where are you living? Most freshman housing requires a meal plan. If you find yourself hating EVK already you may want to get the Trojan Plan and live off dining dollars since you can use them anywhere.

Honestly, EVK isn’t as bad as everyone says it is. I liked it better than Parkside, mainly because Parkside only serves 3 things and 2 of them are curry (the other is breakfast).

You’ll probably eat at The Lot for quite a few lunches, and they have a good selection. Popovich is very good, but kind of far from everything except the southside dorms. Tutor cafe is quite excellent as well, especially the fresh fruit.

HEY GUYS!

Do any of you know anything about Honors House on Severance? Anyone lived there? Care to share thoughts?

Food service really slows down during the summer, so my guess is that the offerings at EVK are pretty limited until school starts back up.

Cafe 84’s closed for the summer, I think Parkside is closed also. The Lot is open, but limited hours (lunch only)

If you’re a picky eater then cafe 84 is perfect - for example you can get mongolian style chinese (i.e. you load up your bowl with whatever you want and they stir fry it for you), or custom mixed pasta, or whatever.

I rather like the food at Parkside, though :)

Hawkwings is right, I totally forgot about Tutor Cafe, they have pretty good sandwiches.

hey, If I apply as a transfer, would they look at my SAT scores from uni or HS?
and if I apply as a junior transfer, would they take my HS or college record more into consideration?

From the USC transfer admission website:

Hi,
I know that students receive a card for admission to the Lyon center but is there an additional charge for classes or actiivities at the center like yoga, spinning, etc.? Or is that included? THANKS.

Looks like there is a charge of $65 for students/semester

If you do not receive a letter before May 1st, you can call and speak to Dona Christianson (TAP Program Coordinator). Explain your situation and she might just tell you whether you have been accepted into the program.

What do you (or anyone) recommend for GE Category I?
I am currently enrolled in EALC110 (The Great Tradition with George Hayden) and I am doubting my decision.

The American Experience with Professor Seip fulfills both your GE Cat I and your Diversity requirements. Not to mention Seip is an excellent, animated teacher who puts an interesting spin on American history. I remember one lecture he played the soundtrack to Pocahontas to illustrate prejudicial views against Native Americans in the United States and how it has changed since colonial times.
