Does it mean that a decision has been made on my application if I didn’t recieve a second review email? Getting mail in my town takes a really long time for some reason. If I call admission can they tell me if a decision has been made? Thank You!

So if someone in my town didn’t receive notice at all, does that mean that their application hasn’t been reviewed at all yet? I am just nervous that my application was weaker because it required another review.

What is the best way for a student to send updated information to be added to her application?

I got accepted to TCNJ last week, and I am very excited about attending this amazing school in the fall. I have been to TCNJ before, but did not learn much about the athletics and sports clubs. Is there a tennis club I can join? I am a crazy tennis fan. thank you !!

Hi EG111! If you didn’t receive a second review email, that means your application hasn’t been reviewed yet. If you called our office, we would be able to tell you if your application is complete, not complete or not processed. We won’t be able to notify you of a decision over the phone or if one has been made yet.

Hey Collegetimee! All applications that have been reviewed up until this point have received some communication from us (either an accept, a deny or an email saying their app is under a second review.) It is no reflection on the strength of your transcript if your application has not been reviewed yet, so rest assured!

If you’d like to update your file, Sudsie, then you should mail or email us the information with “Attention: Pending Application” written on the top and your name and PAWS ID number on every page.

Music237, Congratulations! You can check out all of our athletic programs here: [The College of New Jersey Athletics](http://www.tcnjathletics.com/) We have both a club and intramural level tennis team. More information on the club and intramural sports can be found here: [url=http://www.tcnj.edu/~intramur/]TCNJ Intramural Sports & REC Center | Home/url

Thanks–which email address should we use to send updates?

if my application status is complete on PAWS and it says that there are no “to do items” on my list, does that mean my application is complete? i just want to make sure because i haven’t gotten any type of response yet

Hi Sudsie! You should send your updates to TCNJInfo@tcnj.edu.

You got it Willthethrill32! If there is nothing on your checklist, then your application is complete. If you didn’t hear anything yet, it’s probably because we haven’t gotten to your application just yet. Hold tight… everyone will hear over the next 6 weeks!

My son received his acceptance yesterday into the History Education program and he’s thrilled! He has seen some programs with a 5 year option to get your masters. It appears there is one for English Education and Special Education, but not History Education. Is this something that is available for his major once he’s enrolled or can it be accomplished with the guidance of an advisor?

Hi Njxcdrmom! Congratulations! There is a 5 year program for English and some of the more specialized ed programs (ex. special education, urban education, deaf/hard of hearing eduction etc). Secondary education does not have a 5 year program. I’m guessing that’s what your son applied and was accepted into, correct?

Hello,

If you applied for a major that has the option of doing a combined BA/MA, do you have to apply before you start TCNJ, or can you apply as a freshman?

Yes, he applied and was accepted as history secondary education. That’s the major he has a passion for so isn’t planning to change but was looking to see if there was an option of incorporating the Masters into his undergraduate work.
Thanks for your response!

Hello, I was wondering if you could give me some information about your psychology major. First, is psychology one of your competitive majors? Is the major choice taken into consideration when reviewing the application? How many student in previous years have applied as a psychology major, what percentage were accepted? Thank you :)

hello I was wondering if the journalism/professional writing major is highly competitive and difficult to get in to. If I applied for that major would that improve my chances of getting in?

Hi Ialan137! If you are looking for one of the 5 year programs, like 5 year psychology, you need to apply into that major vs. applying into just the regular psychology program. If you were referencing one of the 5 year education programs, you will be admitted directly into that 5 year program as a senior in HS.

Hey Mivlpl and Claymatthews! As a whole, TCNJ has a 43% acceptance rate, so all of our majors are competitive. When reviewing application, we look at what the student applied into a admit them into that major. I always encourage students to apply into a major that they would like to study. Once you are on campus, there is no guarantee that you will be able to switch into the more competitive majors, so if you think that is what you would like to study, I would recommend applying into that major.

So there would be no way to do the 5 year program as a freshman in TCNJ?

Hi Ialan137. I’m not sure that I understand. What major are you talking about?

My son applied to TCNJ for Fall 2012 regular decision, when will letters be sent out
