I submitted mine on January 5th and heard back the next morning.

I submitted my honors and scholars app around December 15th and i haven’t heard anything back since. So i imagine it varies.

maybell , you pretty much covered it!

to tie up some loose ends.

-Yes, it is true that Bradley has no A/C
- If you want quiet, do not live in a all freshman dorm. The noise will be very loud from Thursday back to Sunday
- Barrett House is not only for scholars. No dorm is. Scholars get priority to live in the dorms that coincide with the living community but anyone can live there if they specifically request it and theres space.
- No clue about the honors process, but good luck to everyone!

She is accepted into Honors program. We are screaming. This settles it, I have an osu Buckeye!

Does anyone know about Drackett tower
-is it open to freshmen
-is it quiet
-# of room mates

Please, and thank you

this may seem like a stupid question but does anyone know if the you are allowed to have a t.v. in your dorm and do dorms have cable?

Does anyone know if students in Haverfield House have access to any sort of kitchen facilities other than just a microwave?

The only appliances you can’t bring to the dorms are the kind that might start fires, like hot plates or toasters. Dorms have cable, which you’ll need to bring a TV for. For people living in Lincoln or Morrill, you may want to communicate with your suite-mates to figure out who can bring a TV for the common room.

This is a great topic, I’m so glad to see there are students willing to give advice! I’m a parent of an admitted student (new to this board) and we’re feverishly preparing for our first child’s college experience. I recently read an article in The Chronicle of Higher Education about a program OSU started allowing high school students to reach out to OSU students on campus to get free advice. Our son wants to work at The Lantern (student newspaper) and was able to find a current student who writes for the paper to chat with. [Ohio State University - College Admissions - CollegeSolved](http://osu.collegesolved.com/) - anyone know of other resources Ohio State provides?

Hello!

I want to enter as a sophomore next year and I applied as a transfer student. I only have 9 completed credit hours now, but between my current semester and the spring/summer classes I’m taking I will have 35 credit hours by Fall semester of next year. I sent in my ACT scores, High school and college transcript. Is there anything else I need to do? Are there any courses that OSU would require me to take before I transfer? THANKS!

Hi, i’m a current freshman at osu this year and I had a question as well haha. When will current students find out about housing?

Also, next year all dorms will have A/C since we start in august, President Gee confirmed this for me last week!

imTatyiRock, even Bradley? Are you sure!?!

I want Bradley next year so getting AC too would be like heaven :)

does anybody know the living conditions in morrill tower? and which housing is best for honors?

My son is graduating from Case in May and heading to OSU .The year he was a freshman ,there were only 17 people from NJ ! Do you miss the east coast style ? My son says the Ohio way of life is not to his liking ,but the award money has been good .

Sorry guys, I’ve been taking midterms like crazy so I didnt have lots of free time. But I`m gonna get through all the questions

Maybe you can contact the editor or one of the staff memeber at the Lantern directly. I dont think they wouldnt really have a problem if your son wants to get involved. Im sure theyre always looking for new talent. For him I would also advise him check out the Department of Communications website ([The Ohio State University School of Communication - The Ohio State University School of Communication](<a href=“Home | School of Communication”>Home | School of Communication)) and look into joining the Media, Marketing and Communication Scholars.

I think you got the basics covered. But different majors require different things. So look at this page and you will know what you need exactly: [Transfer enrollment criteria](<a href=“Enrollment criteria - transfer students - The Ohio State University”>Enrollment criteria - transfer students - The Ohio State University)

Notification from housing comes out in August.

Wow thats interesting. Construction on South Oval isnt near being done. Nor does it say that on the OSU Housing site. Even though this is new news I wouldnt bet on that completely yet till official word comes out

Drakett will be home to a large number of freshmen ( First Year Collegian Community ). But it is on North Campus so it shouldnt be toooo noisy. And Drakett has singles, doubles, triples and quads I believe.

Thats it. Just a fridge & Microwave. No Kitchen area in Haverfield.

I personally miss the East Coast lifestyle. But thats just me. Ohio isnt really my liking either. Some people adapt easily though. But yep, award money definitely helps!!

This chart is the easiest way to understand housing and can answer alot of the questions.
