I was accepted to a school for guaranteed transfer last year (so I would start fall of 2019). I was hospitalized during that time and unable to answer, and ended up attending a different university. If I contact admissions, do you think there is any way they would grant me the same acceptance I had, and start fall of 2019 like I was supposed to?
You can ask them and explain the situation. They may ask for documentation. Have you completed the requirements for guaranteed transfer? Coursework and GPA are usually specified.
I’m overnight shipping the Dean of Admissions a letter explaining that I was hospitalized but am now attending a different college but wish to transfer. I am also attaching a copy of my acceptance that I received last year. I’m meeting their expectations that were described with my acceptance. The college I’m looking to attend is NYU, so it’s pretty high-ranked and I just want to know if I even stand a fighting chance. I’m also planning to call at the end of the week as a follow-up if they don’t get back to me.
Nobody but the admissions department can answer your question with any certainty. Your case may have been stronger if you kept them in the loop during your illness or contacted them when you started at your current college but I hope things work out.
